Danny the Fox 95 Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 The one and only Liam. First with transfer news
Jimmy Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Hull fans on another forum reckon we'd have to pay "Mills money" but that "Chester is better then Mills so £7m". ffs its this time last year Mills was meant to be the best defender in the league. I wish Nige & Mills would go into a room and talk this out properly without the stress of trying to catch the play off places, I think they'd be able to work out their differences and save having to take the hit on Mills' fee

I wish Nige & Mills would go into a room and talk this out properly without the stress of trying to catch the play off places, I think they'd be able to work out their differences and save having to take the hit on Mills' fee Imagine the money Mills is on. For all we know Mills recieves a massive financial boost if he plays any more games or we have to give more money to Reading. His wages will be massive, so when better players are available for less money we'd be stupid to stick with Mills just because we over-paid for him in the first place.
Jimmy Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Chester isn't better then Mills though, people are saying the same about him they were saying this time last year about Mills
Leicester Lass Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Chester isn't better then Mills though, people are saying the same about him they were saying this time last year about Mills But Chester is a better option for us than Mills in the circumstances. I'd like things to work out for Mills here, I'd probably have him in my starting 11, but it's quite clear it's best for both parties if he moves on. Our focus is to cut our losses on him, and bring in a replacement. Chester may not be better as an individual in your opinion, but he's guaranteed to be a better option for the team as a whole.
Jimmy Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 All I'm saying is I'd be happier if they at least tried to clear the differences, if after he still left then fine I just think this is 1 we're going to regret that's all
Mark_w Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Chester isn't better then Mills though, people are saying the same about him they were saying this time last year about Mills The Reading fans said that Mills wasn't that good and were happy to sell him. The Hull fans think Chester is fantastic and don't want him to leave. Seeing as they are the people who watch them every week I'd say they are the opinions we should be trusting.
Jimmy Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 yeah because people never have an inflated opinion of their own players... Just look at Iain Hume a VERY average player that was God like to most when he was here
Danny the Fox 95 Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 I'd love Mills to stay, but it just won't work out. Chester is a good option and hopefully him and big Wes will form a decent partnership at the back next season.
nickelbyfox Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 yeah because people never have an inflated opinion of their own players... Just look at Iain Hume a VERY average player that was God like to most when he was here Couldn't agree more, people always claim these trusted fan sources saying this. What is this a google search 'Chester Hull City forum', and have a look from the comfort our computer? If a Huddersfield fan did that to us for Peltier or the same for Bamba, they would see negative comments and would forget buying them? Like this forum it is an opinion and a view which should be considered, but cant be the best tool for rating potential signings

Jimmy Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 and we've bought players other fans said were shit and sold players we thought were shit in the past that have turned out to be superb for the buying club
Bert Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 All I'm saying is I'd be happier if they at least tried to clear the differences, if after he still left then fine I just think this is 1 we're going to regret that's all How do you know they've not already tried?
Babylon Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Chester isn't better then Mills though, people are saying the same about him they were saying this time last year about Mills Difference being Hull fans (who see him all the time) rate him, where as Reading fans in the main detested Mills and said he was crap unless he was on TV.
Phil Gee's Mullet Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Difference being Hull fans (who see him all the time) rate him, where as Reading fans in the main detested Mills and said he was crap unless he was on TV. Or playing us!
flowwolf Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I don't care or trust what Reading fans said about Mills. But having seen his piss poor standard of playing ability for myself I can only concur with them. How on earth Erickson paid that kind of money for such a mediocre championship standard player is beyond all reason. And if he was that good for them how come they have made no effort to get him back ? Come back to haunt us ? he couldn't haunt his fvcking self.
Dan Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I have a funny feeling we might offer Mills as part of a deal for Chester.
Jaspa Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I have a funny feeling we might offer Mills as part of a deal for Chester. Mills really isnt the type of player to be playing for Hull They also lack the ambitions he has portrayed Celtic are Champions League Can see Leeds back in the Prem in 2-4 years We were in a position to be in the Prem with Sven Hull are . . . . . . Hull Would still like Chester tho Would give us great balance in CB with Morgan & Chester

Bet he could trip over himself though and concede a penalty whilst doing so and then get sent off
Mark_w Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 They also lack the ambitions he has portrayed I think you're confusing greed with ambition mate.
foxfanazer Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 Would much prefer Chester to Chambers. Having already played under Pearson I dont think he'd have a bad attitude like mills when not selected. SSL and Chester with Morgan on the bench sounds good to me

SSL and Chester with Morgan on the bench sounds good to me As reported, PEARSON would prefer Chester to Chambers ! It's just that 'needs must' - ie he needs an alternative when Hull turn us down (or Chester himself does) - as I'm sure they will do. IF Bruce takes up the offer of the Hull job, there's no way he'll want to get rid, unless it's BIG money (and I don't think Pearson is in the game of big money for the likes of JC).

I totally agree they will hold us over a barrel with this transfer but things don't look quite as rosey at hull now so you never know? Adam Pearson seemed to be the main person making things difficult for us and he's gone now. Nige won't be held to ransom that's for sure
