Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 I think it depends on how hands on each manager is on the training ground. Surely having an experienced pro in your position as a manager will help a young player? Chester might have a loyalty to Pearson, like Fryatt and Hobbs appeared to have, or maybe he fancies playing under much decorated Steve Bruce. We don't know. If Chester wants to come and the fee is reasonable, then we should try to sign him. If he doesn't or the fee is unreasonable, then we should move on to other targets. My gut feeling is the latter will be the case, and while fans might want to sign him to get one over Hull due to the shenanigans since Pearson left, I doubt very much this will have a bearing on what Pearson does. Agree if deal feasible and sensible then and only then will NP do business!
Happy Fox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Ian Stringer @StringerSport #lcfc confirm Sol Bamba has left as was mentioned on The Forum a month agol. The exodus continues, next? The chase for Chester must be close
jock2612 Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Still cant see Hull selling to NP and the player seems to want a move ,if at all,to the North West. With Forest in such a mess still JC would be a good bet and wouldnt he be on a free?
lcfc_amie Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Is that a hint from stringer? We've seen before that he knows quite a bit more than he's allowed to let on.
Guest Col city fan Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 I know very litte about Chester so have no idea of his ability. Yes he was in a successful back four last season but how much of that was about Jack Hobbs? Is it not still unlikely that Steve Bruce is going to want to sell his best young players? If Chester is as good as people are making him out to be (how often have you REALLY seen him play)? Then why on earth would Bruce want to sell him?
burni Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Steve Bruce may sell to create a transfer kitty, i'm sure he has players in mind for his replacement should it happen
dpjfox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 has Bruce ever seen Chesters play?, every manager likes to bring in their own players, he may prefer cash to reputations. NP obviously rates the lad and i have a feeling this is a key transfer in his plans
Tom17LCFC Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Is that a hint from stringer? We've seen before that he knows quite a bit more than he's allowed to let on. That's what I thought when I read it, fingers crossed!
MattyFromLE Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 At the end of the day Stringer knows nothing. Probably more than you or I, however.
cc_star Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Agree if deal feasible and sensible then and only then will NP do business! Absolutely zero to do with NP until Neville/Top agree a deal with Hull's owners & then NP will be part of the team to show him around and 'sell' Chester his plans for the future & where he fits in before handing back-over to Neville to negotiate with Chester's agent.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Dont know enough about this fellow to make much comment but we have to trust that big Nige knows his targets well and will do the best deal he can for this club

muzzycomeback Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Bruce is probably selling him to buy Titus bramble!
Adster Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 Bruce is probably selling him to buy Titus bramble! That would be fvcking hilarious!
MPH Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 I'd offer them SSL and 1.5m They get a player and money.. bish bosh job done.
burni Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 I'd offer them SSL and 1.5m They get a player and money.. bish bosh job done. That would leave us very thin on the ground for defenders with the departure of bamba and possible departure of mills and peltier. I think SSL is a player we should keep hold of
Master Fox Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 SSL really showed how rubbish he is in the Euro's. No surprise they got hammered in every game with SSL playing at the back
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 SSL really showed how rubbish he is in the Euro's. No surprise they got hammered in every game with SSL playing at the back I wouldnt go as far as rubbish but alot of our fans do think he's a certain 1st choice. Average for me but there you go!
Leicfox Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 SSL really showed how rubbish he is in the Euro's. No surprise they got hammered in every game with SSL playing at the back A bit harsh. We all know he's not world class like some of the players he's had to defend against in the Euro's that doesn't make him a rubbish Championship defender though.
AKCJ Posted 19 June 2012 Posted 19 June 2012 SSL really showed how rubbish he is in the Euro's. No surprise they got hammered in every game with SSL playing at the back Harsh. He's had to defend against players like Mandzukic, Modric, Silva, Iniesta, Torres, Cassano, Balotelli and Di Natale whereas in the Championship he'll defend against players like Yann Kermorgant.
