flowwolf Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Surely if Leicester were to lose a decent player you'd rather he didn't go to a fellow championship club? Yes well we won't be a fellow championship club at the end of the season will we !
flowwolf Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 They were mauled. I've been waiting patiently so this beauty can get another airing, Here's my chance. My god have they no shame :D :D :D What next Forest fans singing you've just been mauled by the Mullahs ?
smudger63 Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 I will never understand why people want to get rid of King? He is an absolutely fantastic player and has been by far our best and most consistent midfielder since he came into the side. He might not have had a great season last season, but he was injured for a lot of the time and to be fair, no-one really lived up to expectations last season. He gets assists, he's scored about 30 goals over the past 3 seasons which is a great return from midfield... I don't know what he's got to do to win people over? All people say is that he 'goes missing' during games, which is simply not true. You might not notice him for a while, then out of nowhere he'll make one of those late runs into the box and score or set up a goal. I would be absolutely gutted if we got rid of Kingy. That`s because he goes missing!I think King is a luxury player, as other posters have said, if we are on top,and controlling the game, he can be very good, but when it`s a battle, and our backs are against the wall, personally i just don`t see him.

West Ham away. Battled and was our best player, scored and was unlucky not to get us at least a draw. The fact is he was injured for the best part of last season. He will come good
enex Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 I know this is a robert koren topic and he would be a steal for £500,000, but Andy King is one of the best finishers we have at the club and would be mad not to have him in the starting 11 next season there are a few great goals I can think of including that goal against leeds on boxing day, the one he nicked off joe hart against man city (and nearly chipped him later on), scoring with the yak at derby away and scoring the final goal in the playoff against cardiff. I personally rate the lad who has come from the youth academy and hope he has a great season for us next year
Fox92 Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 King is our best finisher, no doubt, but I don't think he'd be in my starting 11. He is a luxary player and gets knocked off the ball to easily.
Happy Fox Posted 19 July 2012 Posted 19 July 2012 Koren would be a great potential addition if he joins, he is the playmaker we have been crying out for and is much for mobile than Wellens and has more ability. A central midfield Four of Danns, Drinkwater, Koren and King would be great at this level, also factoring in James, it would seem Wellens days are numbered.

Phil Gee's Mullet Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/sport/sheffield-sport/sheffield-united-foxes-want-maguire-1-4757669 Read the bit at the bottom about Koren: Pearson, who is shortly expected to unveil Hull’s Robert Koren as his latest recruit after activating a release clause in the Slovenian’s contract,
Fox92 Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 Even though a couple of people have posted about it, I still don't believe it. I'd like it to be true though... I wonder if Koren is the suprise tomorrow?

Leicester_Numan Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 It's just appeared on twitter from the mercury. I'd like to see it from other sources as well though
Fox92 Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 "Bruce has confirmed that the Slovenian midfielder does have a clause in his contract that would allow him to speak to other clubs if a certain amount is bid for him, believed to be £500,000" Go get him Nige
blueblood88 Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I think he will be unveiled tomorrow at the training session
dpjfox Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 have the club said there will be a "surprise for the fans" at the training session?, other than seeing the players in the new kit!
Fox 4 Life Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I like Koren at 500k but we have a glut of central midfielders, would like to see money spent on wide players - also get the scary feeling that Wellens still plays which will push down prospects like James even further

If Pearson has known about the clause all along, then what is he waiting for? Does he want him or not? So far the evidence suggests not.

bridlington Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 For what it's worth, we are apparently close to getting Aluko from rangers. Of course completely different players but I think it makes korens exit a step closer.
Raw Dykes Posted 20 July 2012 Posted 20 July 2012 I like Koren at 500k but we have a glut of central midfielders, would like to see money spent on wide players - also get the scary feeling that Wellens still plays which will push down prospects like James even further I wouldn't worry about Wellens keeping the younger players out of the team. I'm sure the main reason NP signed Drinkwater and James is that he knows Wellens needs replacing soon - he's on his last legs. You might be right and it turns out Wellens starts matches ahead of King, Drinkwater and James, even when he's out of form, but I seriously doubt it, and it's pointless worrying about something that hasn't happened and might never happen. I don't think we do have too many CMs, even if we do sign Koren. We ended up using Bamba in central midfield when we had only one fewer. It's good to have competition for places, and to prepare for injuries, suspensions and fatigue. it's a long season.
