Jaspa Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 I must be the only one but I reserve judement on Koren. I would prefer if Pearson spent money on younger players with potential and a sell on value. Its all good and well to have a few good prospectful youths, but you cant make an entire team out of them Koren was the captain of his country in the last World Cup, and scored a symbolic goal against us last season We also dont have an attacking mid of his type I feel he could be a very good addition to the squad
MPH Posted 29 June 2012 Posted 29 June 2012 I must be the only one but I reserve judement on Koren. I would prefer if Pearson spent money on younger players with potential and a sell on value. Pearson has always said that he likes a mix of youth and experience... You do need a couple of mature heads about you to steady the ship from time to time... And then there is just plain out right being a good player. He is no Pirlo of course ... but i wonder how the Italians would of done without Pirlo.... Koren isnt getting any younger.... but 10 goals from a midfielder for an average championship team is a very good return.
dpjfox Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Reading just got Gutherie from Newcastle, may now drop interest in Koren
thewarmanator Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Its all good and well to have a few good prospectful youths, but you cant make an entire team out of them errrr Crewe?
Jaspa Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 errrr Crewe? Oh yeah. the great and mighty Crewe We are not Crewe, we haven't had Dario Grady in charge of out youths for years. We are not a lower league club playing against 6+ Steve Howards a week, to gain match experience for them Youths, unless they a sh** hot dynamite; will get a team in our position nowhere on there own I do like having good youths in the team, but we need the right balance to be successful now

thewarmanator Posted 30 June 2012 Posted 30 June 2012 Success is relative to what you want to achieve, I think the Crewe team had 9 players in their first team when they got promoted this year. Experience helps and I would love to see Koren sign but if the youngsters are good enough to achieve what we want then why play someone else just because they are older?
Oadby Fox Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 Brian McDermott battles for Robert Koren By Jonny Fordham June 29, 2012 Robert Koren is at the centre of a tug-of-war between Reading and Leicester City. The former West Bromwich Albion midfielder is said to be keen to leave Hull City after two seasons at the club. Koren has one year left on his contract, but would relish a return to the Premier League. Royals boss Brian McDermott is a long-time admirer of the former Slovenia captain. However, Leicester manager Nigel Pearson knows Koren well from when he was in charge at Hull and would be able to guarantee the 30-year-old more game time in the Championship. Hull’s new boss Steve Bruce will no doubt be keen to speak to Koren when the club return to pre-season training. But he faces a fight to keep hold of him in the light of Reading’s interest and unconfirmed reports of a £500,000 bid from Leicester

But he faces a fight to keep hold of him in the light of Reading’s interest and unconfirmed reports of a £500,000 bid from Leicester How on earth are Leicester piggy-backing in on this story. Koren's agent said that Koren would be interested in hearing what Reading had to offer as it would be a chance for one last punt at the Premiership. Notice I said his agent, not necessarily him. Reading haven't even made an offer for Koren yet, let alone spoken to him or his agent. Weeks ago Pearson made a ridiculous bid for Koren which was dismissed out of hand. Koren could have put in a transfer request at that time, if he had been interested, which, because he only has a year left on his contract would have cost him peanuts, and yet he didn't. Also, Pearson spent one and a half seasons playing Koren wide left which he loathed. And finally our owners will not do business with Nigel Pearson. Bottom line is Koren MAY leave for Reading IF we decide to cash in, out of respect to him wanting to go to the Prem. But he won't go to Leicester.
Salieri Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 ] How on earth are Leicester piggy-backing in on this story. Probably the same way you have 'piggy-backed' on this forum for the last few months.

Not handing in a transfer request is not necessarily a sign of not wanting to leave. You get a loyalty bonus or something if you don't hand in a transfer request dont you? Oh and yeah please **** off, just because other Hull fans aren't interested in your Nigel Pearson obsession doesn't mean we will be.

Sick to death of reading your silly rants now on a LCFC forum, Nigel Pearson built your present team which you seem to think is so wonderful yet you come on here and slate him. You are contradicting yourself. Who exactly have the mighty Hull bought so far and where do you think they will finish in the league. Do you expect Hull to finish above LCFC?

AKCJ Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 I love how that Dull fan completely ignores player power and he's that naive to believe that it is down to Hull whether or not Koren plays for them.
foxes1982 Posted 1 July 2012 Posted 1 July 2012 . Do you expect Hull to finish above LCFC? Why wouldn't he? They have finished ahead of us 4 out of the last 5 seasons.

Filberts Treat Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 Made himself look an even bigger **** on the Heskey thread
cambridgefox Posted 2 July 2012 Posted 2 July 2012 I want him to come now, even if it's just for the caption on the bottom of my posts quoting STROPALOT TIGER"but he won't go to Leicester" Can see his point though, would Hull want to sell to us after Pearson left them to come back.would have to be over the odds I would have thought.

Is that the same player power that saw Luca Modric leave Tottenham at the beginning of last season?
