Maybe Koren doesn't want to join us...

My guess would be that the clause isnt activated unless the bid comes in from a premier league club. That would explain how come they have been able to reject our offers. The club that they are worried about is most likely Rangers who have been rumored to be interested in a bid for him.

The same Rangers that are currently in liquidation and will probably be playing in Scottish Division 3 next season?

And isn't there a transfer embargo on them?

Sorry I meant to type Reading.

I tend to agree with this. As I said yesterday, if Nigel knew about the clause all along, then what has he been waiting for? That suggests to me that he doesn't want him. Either that or he only just found out about the clause, like Bruce did?

The thing is, it was Pearson who signed Koren for Hull. So Pearson took part in writing up Koren's contract right? So he must surely have known about the clause as he was involved in formulating Koren's current contract....... I'm not wrong am I?

It's a bit odd that he was willing to put in such a low transfer clause, almost as if he wasn't planning on sticking around...

(Someone check Ben Marshall's contract )

Im joking, the guy is a moron

He had his moments, but this board is better when opposition fans weigh in with reasonable opinions and perspectives.

This isnt going to happen.

This. Why would we sign another CM when we have King Wellens Danns Drinkwater and James here already. If you remember when Pearson came back he clearly stated that we have to many CM,s at the club so therefore why would he go for Koren as we'd then be back in that same situation. As much as id like him here we all need to get into our heads THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

This. He's not one for the future anyway. He's approaching 32 and he's not on a free so why would Pearson be after him now? His targets now is a CB and a committed MW; not a central who can play on the wing like Koren.

Isn't Koren an attacking midfielder, anyway?

I wouldn't see any problems in terms of starting spot battle with the likes of Wellens or Danns in that case.

Well I doubt that Pearson actually wrote the contract himself, but yes you would think he would know if it had this clause in. That is why I said that, to me, it's unlikely that he actually wants him. Otherwise we would have made a move already. Even more so now the clause is public knowledge. Which it has been for a week or so.

He's better than Wellens, considerably.

Koren is a better version of Wellens (he can't tackle either), but if we got him it would at least mean ta ta and ta very much to Wellens.

Don't get these comments.. Koren is a totally different player to Wellens. If Koren was to come in and replace anybody, my guess would be King as Koren is a goalscoring midfielder, not a defensive/holded-minded midfielder.

Calling Wellens a defensive/holding midfielder is generous.

This is underwhelming given his age but anyone who thinks we don't need Koren or someone like him is ****ing clueless.

We haven't had a good attacking playmaker for years.
