Simmo86 Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 King, Wellens, James, Danns, Drinkwater and possibly Koren. Something has got to give.
kingfox Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Koren would be brilliant, would love it if we got him.
enex Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 its on ere http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/leicester-city/transfer-talk/news/leicester-bid-for-koren_32423.html
dannythefox Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 I really do not have a clue what the midfield is going to be next season but I think we could do without Koren
MGLCFC Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Koren is similar to Pirlo. He likes to control the game, is very comfortable on the ball and can make telling passes. I'm not suggesting Koren is as good as Pirlo, but in the Championship he'd be a very good acquisition.
dannythefox Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Pirlo ha ha he's nothing like the bloke! Koren is like Wellens but younger and I'm not really fussed if we get him of not.
Deucalion Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Could do for us what Garry Parker did back in the day.
leicesterisme Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Pirlo ha ha he's nothing like the bloke! Koren is like Wellens but younger and I'm not really fussed if we get him of not. And the fact he's better and has a far better goal return.
Grewks Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 If hull players wanted the move i am sure they couldve requested transfers, especially considering they know the NP wants em.
Bettsj2 Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Could do for us what Garry Parker did back in the day. Throw tea at the manager?
Bayfox Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Could do for us what Garry Parker did back in the day. Get sent off for taking a free kick?
Big Dave Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 If hull players wanted the move i am sure they couldve requested transfers, especially considering they know the NP wants em. They tend to lose bonuses etc if they hand in transfer requests, so often remain quiet.
Dan Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Koren is better than Wellens. Koren is creative and has a real knack of scoring goals, he's also the captain of his country. £500k is a very cheeky offer but I reckon at £1mil they'd possibly do it, maybe a bit more than that.
Guest Col city fan Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 I know he's a quality player but I really can't see why this is necessary when we have James/King/Wellens/Danns/Drinkwater . Still, In Nigel We Trust. Koren is a class above any of the aforementioned..
Dan Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 Definitely and bear in mind that there's a good chance we'll play 3 in the centre as well (Nige has played 4-3-3 before), add to that we all know Wellens will hardly feature. I hate to say it as I'm a Pearson fan but one thing he does have a tendency to do is use players like Koren out wide, that is not good.

Jaspa Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 How much did he cost them ? And do we know if he has a particularly good relationship with Nige & Co ?
Grewks Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 next season (if we get koren).......... .................kasper De Laet.....Morgan........St.Ledger........Konch ..................Danns...........James........................ Marshall.............Koren......................Lloyd/Vardy/nugent ..........................nugent/vardy............................. Remember we also have - pelts, kennedy, new CB?, drinky, king, richie, gally, waggy, schlupp. Very good potential there lads, even more strength in depth than under sven IMO. Much more balanced look to the squad. Ive not included becks or mills as i believe they will go. If we can re-invest that money into a winger, another center back and a target man, and at a push a defensive midfielder especially for away games, that is an extremeley well balanced squad.Cannot wait until next season now, i believe on paper that is a better side than last year , albeit lesser known players, but a very solid team. Defence- We have a beast of a center back (morgan) and a ball playing center back (st ledger), as well as two full backs who are physically strong and decent in the air, and can also go forward. Midfield- we have the legs in midfield of danns and james, and then imagine the creativity of koren, james and danns, clearly nige is looking to solve our ball redemption problem. We can also keep the legs fresh with the options of king and drinky. forwards - Although a little weak out wide we have dyer (pace) and marshall (skill) who will cause teams all sorts of problems. Nugent/waggy/vardy can all play out there if required. A more all round/target man type of striker would be nice - we shouldve got marlon king last season. squad players- I believe next season gally will thrive, he will be playing alongside players with similar technical ability such as marshall and james, and koren if he joins. King should also be allowed more space. From that squad there we have so many potential match winners, roll on next season, that looks to me like a quality balanced squad of youth (marshall, james, de laet) and expeirence (konch, danns, nugent). Seriously cant wait now. He cost them nowt. we wouldve bought him if pearson had stayed, we were in talks with him.
Dan Posted 27 June 2012 Posted 27 June 2012 I'd love us to play 4-2-3-1, very untypical Pearson formation but 4-2-3-1 is the way forward, it's ideal for attacking, passing sides.

With the players he is buying it we must be playing 3 central midfielders. I think the 4-2-3-1 best suites our players, 4-4-2 is outdated and doesnt work away from home.
