Vardy signs today

I would like to think we would beat Cardiff in getting his signature. Looking likely we will be in the same division, we can beat them in wages and who would want to move to Cardiff?

We are only 60miles from his home in Sheffield. Finger crossed.

You're missing one small detail and that is that they've been a better side than us for the last 4 or 5 years!

Duo battle for Vardy

Leicester & Cardiff chasing in-demand striker

Last Updated: May 3, 2012 5:01pm

The 24-year-old spearheaded the Lancashire club's assault on the Conference which saw them win the title this term.Sky Sports understands Leicester and Cardiff are amongst the clubs vying for Fleetwood's £1 million-rated striker Jamie Vardy.

His 34 goals in just 40 appearances have made him one of the most in-demand strikers on the market.

Fleetwood reportedly rejected bids from Southampton, Blackpool and Leicester for their goal machine in January, but his sale now looks inevitable.

Leicester have again come back in for the striker but they will face stiff competition from the Bluebirds for the free-scoring marksman.

What a shame, we desperately need someone who knows where the back of the net is & isn't adverse to a bit of teamwork.

As long as we don't waste all summer on him & miss out on other opportunities like Sven did with Maynard.

I fvcking love the expectation and excitement of pre season!!! Let's not get miserable or start questioning the validity of the sourse let's just roll with it and enjoy the ride!

Vardy! Vardy! Vardy!

Seems to be mostly left sided with a good left foot. But can hit it with his left. Good pace, sort of reminds me of young Mclean of Sunderland. He was an unknown from Nth Ireland before this year.

Are we signing him too?!

Grant Holt worked his way up over a number of years, playing League 1 with Forest, League 2 with Shrewsbury, League 1 with Norwich, Championship with Norwich before finally having a crack at the Prem. Bit different to jumping 3 leagues at once to a level nothing even close to anything you've experienced before...

No it isn't you either have the skill or not.

I go and watch the stags a bit living on the notts /derby border, and ive seen him play twice this year at mansfield and i'm not sure why we are interested in him,he has a bit of pace and makes some decent runs , but in my opinion he is not any better than waggy or schlupp, some of the defending in the conferance is shocking [you know abit like our defence this year]think hes scored 31 goals and matt green for mansfield has scored 30. So its a no for me i'm afraid a nothing buy.our fringe strikers would score 30 plus in the bsq/ prem...........

I think most fans will take Nigel's opinion and value of players to those of well meaning fans. We have professional people to make these decisions!!

Not this time, on wiki there's two dates for his birthday if you look closely.

1/11/87 which is wrong and the 11/1/87 which is right, obviously someone has got their numbers mixed up when editing

Yeah, and then he said we hadn't and that the source had jumped the gun. He probably follows fourth official.

We may well have signed him, it may also be one of those self propelling rumours.
