Darkon84 Posted 23 May 2012 Posted 23 May 2012 I put a fiver on louis Van Gaal after the rumours were flying round on twitter yesterday, i got him at 40/1 down to 6/1 now Did you bet on him to become manager or sporting director? Going by the Guardian and The Times, he's been asked to join in a sporting director role, to work alongside the new manager, rather than actually being the new manager

Does it still pay out if he's SD? not sure to be honest, I guess it will be for manager, that would be a kick in the nuts if he becomes sporting director!!
21st Century Fox Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Looks like it's Rodgers. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18235961 Feel for Swansea, going to have a massive job on their hands now, the £5 million compensation just covers some of Sigurdsson's transfer, who'll surely feel like he's be brought in under false pretences. So Martinez is left between a rock and a hard place, stay at Wigan with the fans knowing he was willing to leave or take the Villa job.
Jaspa Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Maybe Martinez will still move back to Swansea Wigan can have McLeish or Bruce Rodgers wont bring instant success to Liverpool, they need to give him a proper chance if they want to progress
21st Century Fox Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 No Louis van Gaal as Director of Football either.
AjcW Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 The Sigurdson deal isn't actual 100% yet.. So there's always a chance he could be a Liverpool player!
Fox92 Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Not sure if Rodgers is the right man or not. Will be interesting to see how he does though. Wonder if he goes for any Swansea players?
Jaspa Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Not sure if Rodgers is the right man or not. Will be interesting to see how he does though. Wonder if he goes for any Swansea players? The only ones I can see him really nabbing are Sigurðsson, Vorm and Caulker And they're all loanees Edit: Add Sinclair too . . . kindov Think ive mentioned ive noticed a big similarity between Chelsea and Liverpool, in the way they operate and produce. It will be a momentous moment in Brendan's career Just gonna go and peek at some Swansea forums
Fox92 Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 I thought Swansea signed Vorm for 1.5million? Can see him going for Sinclair.
Jaspa Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 I thought Swansea signed Vorm for 1.5million? Can see him going for Sinclair. Upon further research, you are correct Here have some rep Can see Sinclair there too
HEGGSY Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 POOR LIVERPOOL lol Let's not start this again, look what happened last time
MrSpaM Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 You watch Chrissy P get appointed Swansea manager and win the premiership next season now
Jaspa Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 You watch Chrissy P get appointed Swansea manager and win the premiership next season now What was that Bernie ? I couldn't hear you for your stench
Babylon Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Can see this one going tits up again for Liverpool, he inherited a Swansea side that was already good and playing good football. No doubts he did a decent job, but people seem to give him the credit for their style when it was already in place thanks to Martinez (and Sousa).
Libertine Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 POOR POOR LIVERPOOL Can't believe he's gone there. After saying what he said initially anyway. He's done a good job but he did inherit a decent footballing side and has only been in the PL for a year. Pretty mad.

Definitely More indecisiveness from Liverpool The only way I think this could possibly go right is my hunch that Liverpool are very similar to Chelsea
RowlattsFox Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Surprised but it is good to see a big club going for a younger British manager rather than the same old names, yes he is still unproven despite the good job he has done with Swansea (although I do think this is over-rated within the media). Hope for the sake of other young managers that he is reasonably successful as if he is not then we won't see any big club take a gamble on someone in the future
Fox in the North Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 I find it weird that he's gone there after forking out nearly 7 million for sigurdsson.
Jaspa Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 I find it weird that he's gone there after forking out nearly 7 million for sigurdsson. Well it isn't his money is it ?
