Fox92 Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 Just because your a beatle's fan! Very true. And add to that Gerrard has always been my favourite footballer.
Frost Posted 15 May 2012 Posted 15 May 2012 He has been out of the game a long time, and the size of the job was massive. He isn't a terrible manager. He led Liverpool to the New Wembley for the first time, three times in a season. But then again, it isn't good enough because a club the size of Liverpool should be challenging for the title, and in Europe. Dalglish had a massive job from day one. Some of the players he inherited from previous manager's are not good enough, and apart from the likes of Reina, Skrtel, Gerrard and Suarez, the rest of the squad is generally made up of average/just above average players, that are probably not good enough to play for Liverpool. I'd really like to see Liverpool challenging for the Premier League table again. Dalglish had a massive job on his hands, and failed. Spent a lot of money and finished 8th. Liverpool have been poor. You can hardly cite Kenny taking them to Wembley 3 times, one was for a semi-final that shouldn't even be played at Wembley. Won a League Cup against Cardiff on penalties (granted they beat City and Chelsea on the way), but fell drastically short in performance. Played poor football and spent far too much money. No-one can justify the job he has done. Imagine if that was Hodgson? 100m+ investment for a LC? Should he really keep his job? Dalglish has been terrible in the transfer market. Carroll and Henderson have shown just how bad they are but the best is Downing. Tim Howard achieved more goals and assists than Downing. Hilarious.

I think Liverpool have been poor, hence they finished 8th (or whatever position it was). Like I said, most of the squad is average now. Downing is especially average, he looked good in a poor Middlesbrough team, Carroll hasn't shown anthing yet (although he does look like he is coming on if Liverpool played more to his style like Newcastle) and Henderson hasn't been that good, although I do believe he has the potential to be a fairly good Premier League midfielder.
Greg2607 Posted 16 May 2012 Author Posted 16 May 2012 Confirmed now on the BBC. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18073446
Out Foxed Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 haha he was so obsessed with protecting the liverpool fc "family" and it got him the sack.
Kitchandro Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I heard he might stay on as Director of football or something? He probably should have gone, not because of where they finished, but because their team has looked so far away from what they should be expecting in terms of performances. If he'd have been given another 6 months I can't see where the necessary vast improvement would have come from.
RonnieTodger Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Good. But it just goes to show you how little our domestic cups mean nowadays. Carling Cup winner, FA Cup runner up. Technically, it's the best season Liverpool have had since 2006 but the league finish is so much more important. Glad he's gone though. 20m on Henderson 15m on Downing 35m on Carroll. What a joke.
Leicesterpool Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 On talksport they've said he's been sacked, that won't go down well at Liverpool. Like I said in a another thread Martinez is heading to Liverpool.

Good move for both I think. It's going to be a completely different challenge than at Wigan though, will be interesting to see what he can do.
Happy Fox Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 If they do appoint Martinez they must give him time, they aren't going to be challenging for the champions league for a good few seasons.
AjcW Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I really hope Martinez is given the chance with some money . He also has a ridiculous amount of contacts in spain that will serve him well if he gets the job
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 always thought 'king' kenny was an arrogant twat as a manager, good footballer - no doubt about that - but I won't miss his annoying face!!!! big mistake wearing the suarez tee shirt, again shows his arrogance
breadandcheese Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 20m on Henderson 15m on Downing 35m on Carroll. What a joke. Ironically, 2 out of the 3 are deemed good enough for the England squad, the other is on the standby list. We have no chance of winning the euro's.
ScouseFox Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Absolutely delighted we won't have to see much of his disgusting little cúnt of a face any more. Hallelujah. As for a replacement, if it's Martinez i'll be quite sad because he seems like a genuinely nice guy and a very intelligent man and manager, but he's not "in" with Liverpool and he'll probably have them doing "alright" after 6 months (considering how weak there squad is) and most fans will want him out. We'll see.
THEFATBASTARD Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 ive never heard the like of it, "KING" kenny sacked by liverpool! Im must be getting old, is nothing sacred? Im going for a lay down and then counsilling.
renards Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Never nice to see someone lose their job,,,,,,,,,,,,until NOW!! Fantastic Daglish hovers over Anfield like a vulture waiting for the job, isn’t it fantastic sometimes how things work out thinks Roy as he lights his 5th Cigar.
Darkon84 Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 News quickly filtered to Michael Jordan, that despite spending over £100 million, finishing with their lowest points tally, lowest position, and lowest goals scored total since the inception of the Premier League, along with the the fact that Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard scored and assisted more goals that 'superstar' signing Stuart Downing, Liverpool fans STILL think that Kenny Dalglish would have come good and he has been unfairly treated.
Jaspa Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 I was wrong I think Liverpool have made a mistake, and they probably needed a coach like him to instill a togetherness and belief in the team over a long period of time. Maybe he should've got someone else to do interviews for him. Liverpool need to appoint the right person now, otherwise they will continue to be a disappointing, mid-table, inconsistent mess
wurmer Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Owners will need to bring in someone who the fans will accept. Rafa Benitez for me....
Kitchandro Posted 16 May 2012 Posted 16 May 2012 Owners will need to bring in someone who the fans will accept. Rafa Benitez for me.... He had a good first couple of years but surely they remember how poor they were at the end of his reign? He's not the genius some people make out.
Fox92 Posted 17 May 2012 Posted 17 May 2012 Apparently they've spoke to Billas-Boas. Decent shout in my opinion.. Be lovely if Villas-Boas won the Premier League with Liverpool. Have that Roman.. Very unlikely though
