Is there ever a tv series you liked that axed after one series?

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

Anything Aaron Sorkin did after West Wing I was going to watch, starred Mathew Perry and Bradley Whitford.

I loved it, then it was binned after 1 series.

The Mist.

I really enjoyed it, but it seems everyone else hated it.  Set up nicely for a second season as well.

Reunion (the US series).

Cancelled after only 9 episodes (out of 13), with the mystery remaining unsolved.

One of the most bizarre TV exec decisions ever.

Great premise, poor execution.

Looking back at it, I can see why it was cancelled. The plot progression is excruciatingly slow, they're milking every scene in every episode. It becomes very soap opera-ish. Dialogue is also sub-par.

Plus, it lacks the alien threat looming over everyone's head. This is a show that could've used more (practical) SFX.

Thought Stranger Things was class. I'd rewatched it before digging into this and the whole thing was better than I'd remembered, with the exception of the whole Russia/California stuff in 4.

Always at its best when there's a simple purpose to the story. Find Will, get rid of baddies and, in this series, kill massively OP villain.

Flashforward had a decent premise. Ended on a bit of a cliffhanger with nothing explained or resolved.

Was gutted that they never did a second series of it, was brilliant I thought.
