Manwell Pablo Posted 7 February 2013 Posted 7 February 2013 The Britannica link is 2012!.... the de Condercet quote was just to show that many thinking people had recognised animal intelligence and ability to think 300 years ago. Do you actually believe that animals are not capable or thought and choice... is that really what you are saying? Unfortunately your 2nd paragraph doesnt make sense. Unfortunately your 3rd paragraph doesnt make sense. So, because they are stunned, its ok for them to be killed?... this is your question? If its ok for that, then you wont mind if i aneasthetise you and humanely pop a bolt through your head? Depends on which animal, I persoanlly believe cows and chickens react mostly on instinctive impulses. You mean you're too stupid to understand/answer either question. That's fair enough. Not at all, you are more than welcome to try it.

Leicester Piggott Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 Whilst everyone is having a good barney about gays, layabouts, muslims etc etc etc, why not argue this one too?
acooling08 Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 Has anybody else noticed a lot more roadkill around in the last few weeks or is it just me? Badgers and foxes in all states of decay on the roadside. I even saw a bird get hit by a HGV on the M1 a week back - it dove across the road like they do but misjudged it and got caught. It was a small thing and landed on the fast lane flapping about on it's back. Felt bad for it, I bet it got splattered very soon after.
Rincewind Posted 8 February 2013 Posted 8 February 2013 A year or two ago when I was doing security, I was sitting quietly in my office when there was a thud on the window. I went outside an d there was a dead pigeon lying on the path. I carefully picked it up and threw it on some grassy part. No doubt some passing fox or a cat (that had been allowed out) had a good meal that night. Every animal that is killed enables an alive animal to survive one more day. I think the same way about chicken, pork and beef.

sphericalfox Posted 9 February 2013 Posted 9 February 2013 Super-Gay Is he 77 in that pic? Cause its deffo implying so Also says he's a 'longtime vegan'. What period of time is 'longtime'? Did this gentleman consume meat prior to his bodybuidling career, thus building muscle mass, then turn vegan, or did he give up meat and then become a bodybuilder? What penance does this man endure for the consumption and choice killing of animals to create such a body specimen?

He did indeed consume meat and build mass prior to going veggie. Penance?...why? As an aside, comments have been made regarding animals intellect and ability... just a quick demonstration of a wild animal adapting. one clever little bird...

Darkon84 Posted 7 March 2013 Posted 7 March 2013 A leading study in to the effects on health by vegan lifestyles has been proven to increase the level of annoyance and boringness in up to 99% of sufferers. Professer Henry Brubaker, from the Institute of Studies, had this to say on the matter... ''After conducting several thorough studies and collating sufficient evidence, we just find it increasingly difficult to understand why anyone would feel this lifestyle is appropriate for a human being. One of the more severe side effects appears to be an increased ability to constantly repeat bullshit no one cares about, regarding healthy, delicious meats''

And you have no point, eating TOO MUCH shit meat will increase the risk of dying young, not as part of a balanced healthy diet. If you do TOO MUCH of pretty much anything it'll do you no good. We've already been through this.

I'd rather die at 65 eating meat than at 85 not. Most would. Quality of life is what it's about.
The Doctor Posted 7 March 2013 Posted 7 March 2013 Life to years, not years to life oz - Living to 100 and being a dull old cunt isn't what anyone sane would want. Live fast, die young and leave a good looking corpse.
