purpleronnie Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 I dreamt about you last night Mattp, don't worry we weren't intimate. We were in town, you were drunk, I wasn't (I cant even get drunk when I'm dreaming), and we had a crowd of people following us and doing what we told them, so we just ran and everyone ran with us, we ended up at a supermarket (dont worry oz no meat was purchased),,,,,err.... thats it, I woke up.
whoareyaaa Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 I'm in a drunken state here but this can't be far away from the cartoon size piece of meat you are imagining. thought that was Chris Moyles when I first glanced at this.

That's actually quite neat. Don't think I've dreamt about a fellow FTer yet. thought that was Chris Moyles when I first glanced at this. Not the first time I've heard that
ozleicester Posted 12 April 2013 Author Posted 12 April 2013 ozleicester: I keep chickens. Am I cruel? cruel is a matter of opinion. Ideally i wouldnt keep chickens. (we have on occasion had a couple of rescued ones running round the garden).
theessexfox Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 cruel is a matter of opinion. Ideally i wouldnt keep chickens. (we have on occasion had a couple of rescued ones running round the garden). They wouldn't be alive if we didn't keep them!?
Webbo Posted 12 April 2013 Posted 12 April 2013 ozleicester: I keep chickens. Am I cruel? We're keeping one in our freezer. It'll be fecking delicious.
ozleicester Posted 13 April 2013 Author Posted 13 April 2013 They wouldn't be alive if we didn't keep them!? If you buy it..... that doesnt (IMO) give you the right to do with it as you please. Animals, like humans are not something we should own and use just for our pleasure There are billions (trillions?) of animals living without human intervention.
BoneDog Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 I'd love to have some blummin chickens in the back garden. Fresh eggs every three days. Plus you can put little socks on their heads and watch them running around like nutcases! Hours of fun.
BoneDog Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Just to clarify, I don't condone putting little socks on chickens heads really. That was just a fun joke because the thought of them running around going "BOC BOC BOC BOC BOC" with a sock on their head is comedy gold to me.

Or glue a cone filled with brandy soaked raisins to their heads and pretend you're Danny Champion of The World...... no that was pheasants wasn't it... still fun though.
BoneDog Posted 13 April 2013 Posted 13 April 2013 Just googled that Danny Champion thing and turns out it's a Dahl childrens book. That's an outrageous trick to put in a book for youngsters!

The right to do with it as I please? I feed and water and shelter it, whilst in the day they trot around the garden, content as can be.B. Surely if we released all chickens 'in captivity' now, they'd die out?

ozleicester Posted 19 April 2013 Author Posted 19 April 2013 Why do we need to make chickens extinct?!?!?! You may have noticed a number of sparrows, blackbirds pheasants etc. Human beings breeding animals to kill and eat is in no way necessary for animals to survive, i think youll find that chickens would be quite capable of existing, so you can rest easy, they wont become extinct.

I don't breed chickens to kill and eat, I keep chickens just as pets, and leave them to live a safe, happy life. I think foxes would get many, many chickens if we let them go, surely it's less cruel to keep them as pets - they're perfectly content!
The Doctor Posted 1 May 2013 Posted 1 May 2013 So then Oz - Otters rape seals to death: A weaned harbor seal pup was resting onshore when an untagged male sea otter approached it, grasped it with its teeth and forepaws, bit it on the nose, and flipped it over. The harbor seal moved toward the water with the sea otter following closely. Once in the water, the sea otter gripped the harbor seal’s head with its forepaws and repeatedly bit it on the nose, causing a deep laceration. The sea otter and pup rolled violently in the water for approximately 15 min, while the pup struggled to free itself from the sea otter’s grasp. Finally, the sea otter positioned itself dorsal to the pup’s smaller body while grasping it by the head and holding it underwater in a position typical of mating sea otters. As the sea otter thrust his pelvis, his penis was extruded and intromission was observed. At 105 min into the encounter, the sea otter released the pup, now dead, and began grooming. Nature is a bitch so why, when all of existence is a big fight for survival should we put aside what we are (animals) and try and protect things that would happily kill us were the roles reversed?

Are you saying I should go find a puppy and rape it to death? I'm pretty sure that's what you're saying. Brb.

Umm because we have the intellect (well many of us do), to know what is wrong. Im really not sure what the point is that you are trying to make... rape and kiling for pleasure (whether human or animal) is wrong, i agree. If you seriously fear being raped and killed by a sea otter then at least i now understand your mindset... and whilst you should probably seek treatment, i guess your need to kill animals for your pleasure does make a little sense. (My first tip is to stay away from the beach) however If you are saying that we should have the right to randomly kill animals because they rape... then the human race has a few problems coming its way.

As do most animals - sea otters are actually really ****ing clever. The point I'm making is nature is a cut-throat, dog-eat-dog state of affairs - hell the only reason we've survived so long is because we have an aptitude for killing everything that moves: so why when nature is a brutal, cruel state should we go against every single aspect of it, betray the skills that have allowed us to become more than lion chodder?
Guest MattP Posted 7 May 2013 Posted 7 May 2013 Off to Banus and Marbella next Wednesday for a week, bullfighting on Sunday which I'm really looking forward too.
