Haydos Posted 18 August 2012 Posted 18 August 2012 Just seen the goals on Sky, it did look like Morgan climbed all over their player for his goal. Didn't see a replay but it was a huge leap if he didn't.
Jobyfox Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Watching Morgan's goal live my first reaction was "foul". But who cares the score still reads 2-0 Morgan, King.
Dan Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Peterborough's display was a ****ing embarrassment, mistakes galore and their philosophy was almost scary how shite it was.
Tom17LCFC Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 At the end of the day, at least we're not wife beaters, he can do one the sad little ****,
Callabinho Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Passing around the back Is hardly dominating Is it Darren....
MGLCFC Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 These are the games we drew or lost season - whilst the first half display wasn't brilliant, I was very pleased with our patience and ability to up the pace in the second half, on a very hot and humid day. The result never really in doubt once Morgan scored. If Peterborough adopt this approach all season they could be relegation fodder. Dominance is surely about being better than your opponents and imposing your authority on the game, not just keeping the ball in your own third of the field for 45 minutes. Perhaps they expected us to press more and catch on the break? Solid start, some good performances, three clean sheets in a week and 7 goals scored. Good foundations for a promising season.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Posh set up for a nil nil draw, as soon as we scored they had to try and chase the game. Once it was bit more open we completely outplayed them.
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Anyone who says that Peterborough were a decent side weren't watching the same game as me. They came for the draw and it was always going to be about whether we could break them down or not. I didn't think they looked a threat at all until they brought on Emile Sinclair ( why he wasn't starting God only knows). Poor side and Fergusons comments just sound like sour grapes. And in Tomlin, is there a fatter striker in the division?
foxfanazer Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 Hope every opposition manager comes out with these comments about us. Means we're doing the right thing
Corky Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 He should be more concerned by the size of Lee Tomlin. Massive.
Grey Fox Posted 19 August 2012 Posted 19 August 2012 He should be more concerned by the size of Lee Tomlin. Massive. Build of a pub player IMO. Don't see that very often these days at this level.
Reynard Bleu Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 He's miffed because his brillinat tactical plan had no alternative if we scored. His plan frustrated us 1st half but, once the goal went their options were limited. They had to tray and move the ball forward more and this opened the game up for us. But my word, he is a tosser isn't he?
Ibbyfox Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 He even got the trademark "Fergie time" at the end of the game. 4 minutes for what exactly? He really doesn't have any grounds to moan... 3 minutes of it would have been or substitutions - they allow 30 seconds per sub and there were 6 of them in the 2nd half. So only 1 minute more to find after that.
Carter The Boss Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 He is an idiot. Their plan worked for the first half and it took us longer than I would have liked to figure it out, but apart from that P'boro were awful and we controlled the game. Thought Sinclair looked handy, I only hope he was carrying a knock or something and that's why he didn't start, because at the rate he was getting chances he could have knocked at least one in over 90 mins. Tactical rubbish from Fergie
Ricey Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Passing it along your back four for long periods and then losing it when attempting a forward pass is not dominating a game of football.
glenny_fox Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Like father like son.. A twat that can't handle losing.
Milton Keynes Fox Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Picture 7/25 on the picture special from todays game on the official site Picture 8/25 shows a clear foul on morgan while trying to head the ball
Wymsey Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Like father like son.. A twat that can't handle losing.
Jace Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Maybe if Peterborough hadn't bored everyone so much including the ref then maybe he would of given a free kick instead the ref was forced to allow the goal just to keep himself awake
artursteppe Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 What? After 20 mins we were in control midweek. Sunderland we were better first half than second, and today we let them pass it around their own half. We weren't good, but we weren't poor at any point today. We looked comfortable throughout. What? We weren't good, but we weren't poor at any point today. We looked comfortable throughout. Babylon, that is so true. Our only real problem in the first half on Saturday was with the final delivery around their box. In the first 20 minutes we robbed three of their defenders but the ball didn't break kindly. We were patient and there was no problem, Becks put a header just past the post, Marshall could have done more with a good opportunity inside their area and they did nothing except simple passes around their defense and some long balls which went out for goal kicks. As the manager said, it was a very professional performance and in the context of this being our first match I am more than happy and looking forward to the inevitable improvements as they happen.

Agree with all this. And you're right about the final delivery. That could be the Achilles heel this season. We shall see...
Manwell Pablo Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Did see this on BBC Sport. Made me laugh, although he could be right for all I know think I dropped off on 30 minutes thanks to their free flowing attacking football.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 We won i give but not a heap of shite about owt else
