MPH Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 To know that Jimmy kept in such good company as the yorkshire ripper makes me feel so much more at ease about all the allegations...
cambridgefox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 But do we know that for certain ? No,but his hairdo in the 70s he did look like Myra Hindley from the back, yet another piece of scum.
Wycombe Fox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 I've just been having a look at the 'Childhood Nostalgia' thread and been on youtube. I found an old programme from my childhood called 'Fingerbobs' which got me wondering whatever happened to the presenter Rick Jones. I googled him and found this article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2139887/Marijuana-like-cornflakes-Former-presenter-Rick-Jones-reveals-drug-taking-rife-childrens-TV-favourite-Play-School.html Just some snippets; 'The BBC was really liberal. Once you were in all laws were forgotten. I had a wonderful time.' There are also revelations about the rampant antics of stars who used dressing rooms and green rooms for sex because ‘nobody cared if you did’.Former Doctor Who actress Katy Manning, who played Jo Grant, says: ‘People were bonking all over the BBC. Everybody was doing it on the premises.’
21st Century Fox Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 David Cameron confronted with list of alleged paedophiles during live broadcast of This Morning http://www.independe...ng-8297661.html "Apparently" there's also a video on YouTube with Max Clifford admitting to covering up a story about a senior Tory "interfering with 14 year old girls".
hairy Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 "Apparently" there's also a video on YouTube with Max Clifford admitting to covering up a story about a senior Tory "interfering with 14 year old girls". We all should have seen the signs before it was too late
flowwolf Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 "Apparently" there's also a video on YouTube with Max Clifford admitting to covering up a story about a senior Tory "interfering with 14 year old girls". You have to laugh at Cameron's naivety in saying people who think someone is a paedophile should go straight to the police. Oh yes like there are no paedophiles in the police force.
flowwolf Posted 8 November 2012 Posted 8 November 2012 The only thing to come out of this whole debacle is that at least people will now be able to spell paedophile when playing scrabble. ( how many points does that score for those in the know ? )

Screw the lying money grabbing twats., and the gullible morons who believe all the utter garbage be thrown around Easy to slander the dead, who cannot defend themselves. R.I.P. Jim.. It pains me to support wummery that this may well be (alright, almost certainly is), but there is some truth in what DT says - it IS easy to slander dead people and they CAN'T defend themselves. Is it me or is there something of a bandwagon effect going on here? Has the country has gone a little bit bonkers over all this? At one stage last week it seemed like any dead celeb was fair game. Channel 4 News tonight was pretty much reporting with the assumption that there was a conspiracy of silence over abuse in North Wales, supported by those at the very top. Of course, no independent evidence was provided and no one was named. Reporting in this way made me a little uneasy. It is as if the starting assumption is that those accused are all guilty, that those who do the accusing always do so for honest motives and that the system is corrupt to the core, but especially so to protect old Tories. What ever happened to the due process of law? The stunt they pulled today on This Morning merely added to my feelings of unease about all this. I have posted earlier in this thread that just because someone is weird looking, or behaves in an eccentric manner or (spare us this old chestnut) is gay, that doesn't automatically make them a nonce - down that road we end up with witch hunts and false accusations. That all said, I find it difficult to accept the validity of a point when it is made by addressing a deceased person. There is no empirical evidence that the dead can actually hear you or have a broadband comnnection so, in all probability, Mr Tiger was wasting his time posting a eulogy to his old buddy Jimmy Saville on an internet forum, too.

I've resisted saying what I've thought about the latest revelations on here because people would just assume I'm biased and blind to any criticism of Tories. I'm not, if any are found guilty of abusing those kids in care they should be locked away for life. I can't help but think that the BBC have reopened these allegations by interviewing a witness whose story has already been told, without any new evidence to deflect the criticism they were getting over the Saville affair onto the govt that was using said affair to beat the BBC. It might be that the original enquiry was a cover up. We'll have to see.

What ever happened to the due process of law? Under the basic principles of English law, every man is innocent until speculated guilty.

This is just a response to the bit I've highlighted. If some of the accusations are true then we are dealing with some very powerful people and groups. I'm pretty sure that they would be well versed at covering up tracks and silencing people with either bribery or threats. I think there would be good reason why it is hard to prove these things. As for the naming of dead people I would think that those guys are probably just patsy's (albeit most likely involved), and that the men and women at the top of these groups will be safe as long as they live. Maybe

It's not often I'll defend Cameron, but you may want to look at this BBC article. The prime minister is said to be disgusted that "old online gossip" about some politicians covering up the fact they were gay was now being associated with the serious crime of child abuse.

Jon the Hat Posted 9 November 2012 Posted 9 November 2012 Not me says Lord McAlpine - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20267832 It seems the guy on Newsnight has already in the past confirmed it was not Lord M several times. Nice work Newsnight! Even the Guardian is backing away from this furiously.
