Safe Standing - Support the Early Day motion

Recommended Posts

That is brilliant news! It needed a top team to come out in support. Wouldn't surprise me if United did the same.

Absolutely no chance of Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal doing the same, however.

Only way Chelsea would ever think about it would be if/when they move.

If Arsenal fans increase their level of fan activism after the recent protest you never know...

Said in that article Man UTD are against it.

There are several clubs Jon has visited behind closed doors where he isnt able to reveal the clubs due to the negative attention the director could receive. If it was upto this one director alone he'd 'have them put in tomorrow'

Jon also used a statistic that every home game on average 200-300 seats are broken at OT. Speculating but where would he have got the statistic from?

Either way, there are many more clubs who privately support it but will not do so publicly. In fairness theres nothing to say since Wednesday that we are one of those

Time to exert pressure on our own club.

They certainly can't trot out the 'no support for safe standing' line with 22 clubs in openly in favour.

I enjoyed Swindon away in the League One season, common sense stewarding on the Stratton Bank was very positive.

Even if we did make their chavvy steward stomp off in a huff.

Can I just leave you with this thought. If hillsborough had been all seating that day no one would have died . Do you really think human beings have learned to behave themselves any better since then ? There is no such thing as safe standing , never has been never will be, not while we possess the in built abilty to panic, that will never change.

If Hillsboro' that day didn't have a high fence around the pitch and overcrowding in an enclosed space with the only exit being the entrance through which the authorities were still letting people in no one would have died.

So your saying people can panic in seats too? These rail seats are as safe as normal seats, that's the whole point.

If Hillsborough had had large metal fences surrounding the supporters, had been poorly policed, poorly designed and had had treble the safe capacity shoved in with no chance of escape the addition of plastic seats would have made no difference. People would have died, suffered injuries and been traumatised for the rest of their natural lives.

To say that there is no such thing as safe standing takes spectacular ignorance. Are you trolling or have you genuinely never read a word about what safe standing actually entails?

Spot on.
