Bolton pre match

Recommended Posts

Can see another defeat in this one. Bolton are much better than where they currently are. Lets hope Billy big bollocks Mills is playing. Think the away fans abusing him will get into his head. Not very strong mentally and will give us at least a chance.

Limited to what we can actually change due to the size of the squad, depends on whether Pearson can let this whole thing with Danns go. His tenacity would surely help us away from home in a 3 man midfield. (that doesn't include James)

Whether Pearson can let the Danns thing go? Yeah, right.

Anyway, giving fouls away on the edge of our box & losing the ball in attack inviting more attacks is the last thing we need away from home.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We need to get our work-rate back, which seems missing in the past couple of games.

Defending from the front for a start, we're missing Vardy (a fit Vardy anyway) whose workrate and ability to link up with his partner, the widemen and the midfield really helped our game.

Whitbread hasn't had the best starts with us & still looks off the pace at the level we were at when Morgan+SSL looked to have formed a good partnership

We need to redouble our efforts, press the opposition better to win the ball back and then work hard to find space so we can get our possession passing game back again, creating all the chances we did... since we lost that edge we've only scored a goal a game and not had many chances.

Dyer is a must start for me, he sticks to the line and creates width, tracks back well and his pace often takes two opposition players out the game.

Kasper

RDL - Moore - Morgan - Konch

Knocky -King - Drinky - Dyer

Vardy

Nuge

Regardless of who plays it's all in the work=rate to press the oppostion & then look for space, without the work-rate & imposing ourselves we won't do anything.

First it's kerfuffle,

Second it has already been used in the title pre match chat, and not that long ago.

Third, it was misspelled and corrected on that thread

Fourth it isn't really a synonym for chat

Fifth we will win 3-1

Edit: well this post now makes no sense since the threads were merged.

Because Danns is the only player in the squad who EVER does this, right?

The manager needs to rotate the squad a bit for this game, and keep some of the luxury players (who struggle with 3 games in a week) fresh for Forest on Saturday.

I'd go with:

Schmeichel

De Laet

Morgan

Moore

Konchesky

Danns

Drinkwater

King

Waghorn

Nugent

Schlupp

Mindless hoofball won't work against Bolton's giant defenders, but pace will scare the living daylights out of them. Despite the win, they looked very nervous against Cardiff last night.

I think it's time that Taft was put into the 1st team squad , the big fella has been looking really good in the u21 development games .

Is he good enough though? Personally I though Moore played well yesterday, but some people were saying he looked out of his depth. Surely Taft can't have developed further than Moore or he would have been in the team before Liam?

OS

City manager Nigel Pearson expects striker Jamie Vardy to miss Tuesday’s npower Championship trip to Bolton, as he continues his recovery from a calf injury.

Vardy travelled with the squad but was not involved in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Watford, having sustained a knock against Crystal Palace seven days previously.

And Pearson doesn’t anticipate that his summer signing from Fleetwood will be available for the trip to the Reebok Stadium, which could open the door for another of the Foxes front-men.

Martyn Waghorn and Marko Futacs were both deployed off the bench at Vicarage Road and neither did their chances of earning a starting berth any harm.

“There is every likelihood of there being one or two changes, but we’ll see how the players respond,” Pearson said on Monday.

“Ritchie De Laet is available to us again and we’ll have a look at how the other players are from the weekend.

“Jamie Vardy probably won’t be available, unfortunately. He’s making progress, but not as quickly as we would hope.

“But I thought Waghorn did well when he came on (at Watford) and Futacs had an impact when he came on as well.

“We’ve got options so you’ll have to wait and see.”
