Karlton Watson- new Under 21 player?

Recommended Posts

Jan 2012

Lincoln City have signed former Nottingham Forest youngster Karlton Watson until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old defender was Forest's young player of the season in 2009-10 but missed last term with an ankle injury and was recently released.

Watson, who was called up to the England Under-19 squad before his injury, had a loan spell at Eastwood this season.

He could be eligible for Saturday's game with York.

Big (as has been previously stated, built like two brick shithouses next to each other) CB, at one point rated higher then Lascelles. Had been training with the first team before he got injured and that footballing genius Cotterill sent him packing.

Hope he does well for you. By all accounts he's a good egg and deserves his chance.

Defender Jide Maduako will become the latest of City’s young professionals to pick up first team experience on loan, after joining non-league Ilkeston.

The versatile 18-year-old will remain with the Robins for one month and could make his debut for the Derbyshire outfit on Saturday, when they host Whitby Town in the Evo-Stick League Northern Premier division.

Maduako joined the City Academy last season, signing his first professional contract with the Foxes at the end of the campaign and subsequently becoming a regular for the Under-21s this season.

Meanwhile, City have added promising youngster Karlton Watson to the Club’s Under-21 ranks.

Subject to clearance being received from the FA and the Football League, the 20-year-old defender will join the Club’s development squad under the guidance of coach Steve Beaglehole, after signing a professional contract this week.
