Jamie Vardy - Out of his depth.

The thing is with Vardy is that he's had a fair crack at it and done all right but when you've got someone as talented as Schlupp not getting a look in, you wonder why. Much prefer to see Jeff given a chance. Surprised no championship teams will go for Vardy though

Be careful to just not rule out/forget Vardy. Million quid he cost. Still a lot of dough at this level.

The young lad who many at the start of the season thought was gonna be the main striker alongside Nuge now seems to be 4th choice.

I hope he wasn't wasted money.

If the posters on here are now saying he's not good enough (all of a sudden) then they must also accept he was a poor bit of business on Pearson's part. You can't have your cake and eat it, so to speak.

Like you say all of a sudden

I thought he would come good and if he got one goal then more would follow, but at times his first touch has let him down. he gets muscled out by bigger defenders (cant imagine what would happen against morgan in training) and has missed a couple of one on ones.

This would definatly be the right move as we've brought in wood there would be no reason to keep him on the bench.Let him go out to a L1 side , get his confidence back , put in some good performances and hopefully come back a totally different player.

Key bit i saw in all that!!!

Well it's true..

I've knocked Sven for some of his signings. If Vardy is now not good enough, as some are suggesting, then Pearson don't get away scot free.

lol

Personally I think Vardy has got more to come. But that's just my opinion..

For what it's worth I do not think there is anything wrong with what he has done so far or getting benched to make way for Wood(s) I would not be surprised to see him covering for Nugent instead of Nugent running himself into the ground, you could make the case for Waghorn as well. But we are now getting depth and options. Another option is the left flank which a lot said would be his best position. It will be interesting to see how this works out.

TBH I was a little surprised that he has played so much, not as surprised as Beckford was! I really didn't think we would see much of him for the first half of the season. As for loaning him out I am not so sure, it's not a matter of fitness more coaching and match time so would he get that at a lower level ?

Perhaps the management team don't think Schlupp is as talented a striker as everyone assumes?

Good - he's not good enough at this level. Anyone who argues doesn't know a thing about football. NP has realised this and brought in Wood

I wouldn't say he isn't good enough for the level it is just we are aspiring to be a promotion worthy championship side and therefore we need players that can produce the business all the time, I think Vardy could hold his own as a midtable championship player.

He's just not got any better since we signed him. I remember having a right go at him at Charlton after he missed a great chance by heading straight to the keeper, after also missing numerous other chances. Afterwards i thought maybe was harsh to call him non league etc and that'd he improve but he just hasn't. I've never seen a player want so many touches before shooting, almost like he still thinks he can get away with it at non league. And i do unfortunately think especially as 25 he is now, he isn't going to improve enough or quickly. Commend his work rate but that isn't enough.

A loan would be good, as IMO he's 4th striker at the club now at best

Don't know where all this hate for Vardy's coming from? He's got a decent return - 5 goals and 5 assists is it? - and his workrate has been fantastic. I think he's done ok so far, a loan spell might help give him the confidence he seems to be lacking, but I don't see how he's now 'the 4th best striker at the club'. I would put Nuge and Wood ahead of him, but him and Waggy are both on about the same level; they're more than good enough to be in the squad and they're definitely going to be valuable squad members this season.

The only thing I would criticise Pearson for is putting him straight in the first team from the word go - he held off with Knockaert and Marshall and it paid dividends with them. I think he expected a bit too much, a bit too soon with Vards. Get him out on loan for a month at a lower level, hopefully he'll perform well and come back fired up with a point to prove.

There's no hate from me, just an acceptance he is short of the standard required to fire us up.

We've got Wood now and he is everything we ever wished for in a striker, so get this lad out on loan and lets see what happens.

Christ! Do people ever learn?

Yes, Wood looks good after ONE game for LCFC.

So did Vardy.

Take a bit of time before you big someone up so much!

Grow up.

I've seen him for Millwall and others in the past.

I know what we have, I am not some numpty.

Here we go again!

Unfair on Vardy to write him off, not so long ago everybody was saying James was poor, now he's incredible apparently.

We have a good squad, embrace it, not knock it all will play their part at some stage.

No cuddles for you, I'm afraid!

He looks good I give ya but i hope you don't come to eat your words. The point I'm making is give it a bit of time. Beckford was signed due a fanfare of adulation too.

Beckford is not a bad player, he just doesn't fit in with what Pearson is doing.

Wood is Premier League bound, and we are going with him.

Mack eating wood doesn't sound good.

How many had beckford scored b y Jan 3rd 2012?

Look back at the threads and see how much stick he got.

He's worse than Beckford and Beckford is the worse thing since sliced bread according to some
