How many had beckford scored b y Jan 3rd 2012?

Look back at the threads and see how much stick he got.

He's worse than Beckford and Beckford is the worse thing since sliced bread according to some

2 and got one assist in 18 appearances.

Vardy has 5 and 4 assists in that time, 20 appearances, and has had to cope with the step up 3 divisions, illness and 2 injuries.

Beckford had to cope with Sven and no pre-season, but a step down from the premiership should have been easier.

I don't really know how you can say Vardy is worse than Beckford based on how many Beckford had scored by this point last season.

And as for Vardy, lets not right him off just yet, he has not had the easiest start to his time at the club, but was an ever present during our unbeaten run, he will have a bit of time now to get back to full fitness, get his head down on the training pitch and be ready if needed, and I'm sure he will be needed at some point this season.

Errrrr.... Vardy had 5 in total and Beckford had 2 at this stage.

Vardy 4 league goals by 8th December

Beckford 4 league goals 3rd March.

Without even bothering to factor in a players effort for the team cause it's pretty clear. And then you have the fact one is in their first season above the conference, one didn't cost £2.5-£4m, and one isn't on £30k+.

Just so you know it's Vardy who didn't cost that much and isn't taking home that much and is in his first season above the conference..... Not that you'd know from the stats.

Not too bothered about either of them as I don't think either of them has a future with the club but Beckford has played and scored in The Premier, something that imo Vardy will never get close to.

Vardy isn't good enough. Don't score enough and also takes about 5 extra touches. He'll end up in league 1 or 2. Don't get why people are saying he's better then waghorn. Waghorn is abetter all around player and adds a impact when playing or coming on. Vardy doesn't do that. Runs around like a headless chicken and adds no impact in attack.

He looks good I give ya but i hope you don't come to eat your words. The point I'm making is give it a bit of time. Beckford was signed due a fanfare of adulation too.

Was he? I've never been so unhappy about us signing a player (maybe Wise), although it was because of his ability of lack of.

That is just clearly bollocks, I would probably agree Waghorn is better at the moment, but that doesn't mean Vardy is shit, why can't we just be objective and appreciate that all of players have flaws, but none of them are shit, Vardy will do well as back-up as we will surely have a few more injuries, suspensions before the season is out, give him time to get match fit and get some more training under his belt, he has all the attributes to be a decent championship player, but he has had an unsettled season so far with injuries and illness, why must we always slag our players off.

He didn't say he was shit, he said he wasn't good enough.

Why do you always have to make excuses for under peformance.

I'm just very happy we have Mr Wood now, Saturday was hopefully the start of a strike partnership that will see us get back in the automatic places mix.

If vardy started every game, we won't go up. Even pearson can understand that. Why do we have to keep giving players chanxe after chance even though they are shite? Like give 100% and thats good enough. He's quite clearly crap and a league 1 striker at best.

He's not 'shit' by any stretch of the imagination (and God knows we've seen a fair bit at Leicester over the last five years or so), but I think his bubble has burst.

Pearson dipping into the transfer market for Wood is a clear (and refreshingly candid) admission that his summer signing has simply not been up to scratch.

He'll have a part to play this season, but probably as fourth choice after Nugent, Wood and Waghorn. There's no way he'd feature if we did ever get into the PL, in my opinion.

would 100% have Beckford recalled rather than have someone who has had about 465 shots and converted 5, no brainer

Yes, go back through the first few threads...

people should stop bumming Vardy just because he gives 100% effort on the pitch, that's not going to win us games. send him to league 1 then give him another chance, if still not good enough then sell him

Maybe they are the best we have ?

Ok come back to me at the end of the season and compare beckfords stats with vardy's. at least JB can finish and not require 30 touches to set himself up.

Would bat an eye lid if I didn't see Vardy in an lcfc shirt again

I'm just very happy we have Mr Wood now, Saturday was hopefully the start of a strike partnership that will see us get back in the automatic places mix.

I am also happy we have Wood, and that we have players like Vardy and Waghorn and Futacs as back-up strikers and in the case of Vardy and Waghorn wide players too, it wasn't that long ago that Waghorn, James, Whitbread were being slated as not good enough, they have all proved their doubters wrong and I have every confidence that Vardy, when fit, will prove his worth.

It is not making excuses it is having a little faith in the players and the team, and not expecting everyone to be perfect all the time.

The comments on here are ridiculous, especially those proclaiming Beckford to have scored more than Vardy at this point last season, when he clearly hadn't, and this isn't even excluding cup goals, it just shows how clueless a lot of posters on here are, likewise I don't remember Vardy needing 5 touches to score and rescue a point against Barnsley.

He is a pretty decent option to have as 4th choice and I just don't understand this obsession with slagging off our own players, if he was starting every game ahead of Nugent for example, I would understand, but he isn't, he is playing a decent squad role and contributing with goals and assists.

but we have nugent who scores. Wood who has a proven championship record of scoring alot of goals. Waghorn who is a massive impact player. Futac is a different option. Vardy doesn't add anything to the attack. Shulpp a better option. Beckford and vardy both aren't good enough. Why their both out on loan.

Because as far as 4th choice strikers go, he was bloody expensive and wasn't bought here to be a back up, he's not paricularly young or showing any particular signs of being able to contribute the required number of goals assists or decent perfomances required at this level. So yes people will moan about him and get on his back it's natural reaction to dissapointment and his 1.2 million odd pound transfer fee.

Whitbred as well is not to great as people make out either he gives the ball away a lot and he is wreckless, it was him lofting the ball into nowhere when he had square passes on both sides that lead to Cardiff scoring. Although admittidly certainly the best we have at the minute and it would be hard to find someone much better whilst still in this division.

That sounds a lot more like Beckford's shots-to-goals ratio to me.

He was lethal up until the 3rd of January, which was the original stat you wanted.

I still think people are letting Nige off very lightly for having spent a mill on what is broadly considered now as the fourth choice striker..

Which was my original point.
