GLC Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 City boss Nigel Pearson makes two changes for this afternoon's match: Schmeichel, De Laet, Morgan ©, Moore, Konchesky, Marshall, Drinkwater, James, Dyer, Knockaert, Nugent. Subs: Logan, King, Waghorn, Keane, Gallagher, Schlupp, Futacs
Happy Fox Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 4-4-1-1?
foxesfan1989 Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Guessing Whitbread is injured? Keane actually making the bench? Mental. Pearson will swap back to 4-4-2 when Wood arrives.
Fox92 Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Pleased Moore is in for Whitbread. I've been wanting this.
kingfox Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Is Whitbread injured? And Waghorn still on the bench
ScouseFox Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Interesting. No King because presumably he's too lightweight? Whitbread must be injured? Nuge looooves a goal against these. Let's do this.
cjslcfc Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Interesting. No Whitbread at all. Could be 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-1-1 I guess. Looking forward to the game though, Come on!

skinnydipper Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Glad to see Moore in. Would like to have seen Schlupp in. Will be interesting to see how Drinkwater and James play as a two. Rememember Drinkwater saying he liked playing with James (from academy days). Is Whitbread injured or just surplus to requirements ?

Let's do this. Pearson mentioned tired players do I think King is for a break more than anything. Actually quite like the look of that team. Happy Fox Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Whitbread probably needs a rest as well likewise with King so that is probably the reason he isn't featuring today.
peterborofox Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Must have Knockaert behind Nugent then i guess? Hopefully he and Marshall play well. Win needed. Surprised King is dropped, Moore in doesn't worry me yet, rate him.
Unabomber Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 its 4 2 3 1, looks promising imo
lcfcsnow Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Knockaert finally given the role of playing off Nugent today then?

Ahh, fair enough. Haven't heard/seen any interviews since Cardiff so wasn't sure if there was injuries or anything. I guess a lot of games very quickly, rotation's necessary. James has done a job at times this season, him and Drinky could allow Knockaert to do whatever he wants, which is how he works best. A bit different but I'm weirdly positive about today now I've seen that. Two genuine wingers, when attacking that'll be akin to 4 up top, when defending they can cover nicely and we should be solid. Father Ted Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 I reckon we'll line up like this: Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky James Drinkwater Knockaert/Marshall - Knockaert/Marshall - Dyer Nugent
peterborofox Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Either that or him in the forward 3 with Dyer and Nugent, with Marshall playing through the middle where he has played well before. Yeah good call. So like 4-2-1-2-1 sort of thing. Very wet Herr in Burnley stopped raining finally now but pitch will be soaked. No more rain please! Need to apdat well to conditions
TrentFox Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 its 4 2 3 1, looks promising imo Agree with that summary. I reckon we'll line up like this: Schmeichel De Laet Morgan Moore Konchesky James Drinkwater Knockaert/Marshall - Knockaert/Marshall - Dyer Nugent And that one, too. No more rain please! Need to apdat well to conditions It hasn't stopped raining in the NW since about 2007 so hopefully someone at the club would've been expecting a poor conditioned pitch and we'll have worked on it accordingly in training. Hadn't thought about the possibility of Marshall in the hole, guess him and Knocky could both have a go depending on how well we start off. Is Charlie Austin out? Read on Twitter yesterday he might be a doubt, got a bit excited but I'm on my phone and can't find Burnley team news.

cc_star Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 Pleased Dyer is back in, disappointed Schlupp isn't tearing up the left with him. King needs a rest particularly with all these games & James is more than able backup. All makes sense. Hoping for 3pts.
Charl91 Posted 29 December 2012 Share Posted 29 December 2012 I'm liking the look of this team to be honest! I do think King needs a break.
