Gotta feel for Zalatoris who pushed him all the way. His time will come no doubt.

Zalatoris is a likeable player, hope he gets a major.

That Zalatoris putt was soooooo close!

Looking at the scenes on Sky, seemed like Billy Foster was in tears and Matty was congratulating him lol

The replays of his family realising he'd won are incredible.

Seems like a nice lad. Probably should have got veneers, like Brendan, rather than braces lol

What a shot that was from the bunker from Fitzpatrick, under immense pressure after seeing Zalatoris hit the fairway. One of the greatest shots of all time. Loved Rory at the end as well with what he said. Fair play.

What did he say exactly?

“Hard work pays off, I’m so happy for you”

A touch of class that.

What a class performance last night from young Matt,  17 greens in regulation when the pressure is on,  was no mean feat.  Just a shame the putter was not behaving we could have all then relaxed well before midnight.

Expect they'll be alot of happy faces at The Hallamshire when I visit to take part in their Senior Open on Thursday,  hopefully he'll have put a tab behind the bar.

Well pleased a Brit has won a major.

You can't help but love Fitzy, at the end he looked like he had won the monthly medal, not the greatest championship in golf.

Not being wise after the event but I tipped him to win pre tournament ( needless to say I didn't back him). Great golf course & the set up was right up his street, I just wish the R&A would get the rough like this for the Open & provide a real test.

Brooks joining his best mate Bryson at LIV.

Ancer looks to be moving over too.

I don’t think the PGA tour will miss Koepka too much. Always strikes me as a smacked arse moody sod.

Another big name defects though and I’m sure others will follow.

It’s really sad how all this is panning out but I can’t see what the solution/compromise is.

Just another player with a loss of form deciding to head for pastures new.

Think it will all depend on the top 15 players, you have the attractions like Rory, JT, Rahm & Spieth, then the new generation in Scheffler, Morikawa, Hovland, Zalatoris, with Smith, Burns & Fitzpatrick mixed in. Hopefully Rory, JT & Rahm stick to their words, but if a chunk of those names I mentioned move over, then that’s when the problem really starts.

Big rumours now that Morikawa and Hovland are next

Morikawa’s ruled himself out while preparing his cereal.
