Reading all these posts is making me jealous. I still get out every now and again but after a dislocated shoulder and an AC Joint separation in opposite shoulders, it just becomes too painful after 13/14 holes.

 

That aside, I’m still going to treat myself to a some new clubs. Driver and Irons (refuse to bin the TM V-Steel fairway woods).

 

Any recommendations? Preferably some irons that are forgiving as I’ll be pretty much starting again, likely have to adopt a new swing.

Played in a pub tourney yesterday with best ball format.

 

We didn't do that well, but my buddy sank our 2nd shot from about 185 yards out for an eagle with a hybrid 5 wood.

 

It was a great shot, although I'm going to be hearing about it for the rest of my/his life

Maddison, Barnes and Thomas were playing at Hinckley yesterday.

 

In other news I'm playing Nefyn again next week, last time I played there was 5 years ago. Love the course, hopefully try and fir another round in in North Wales too.

Always surprised at the leeway footballers get to play golf.   I would be annoyed if a player injured himself attempting to land a monster drive or something. 

 

The injury rate from golfing must be non-existent or difficult to prove a link to.

 Barnes loves it. Met him as he finished his round at my place in Loughborough before Roma. There was a dark skinned lad with him who was about 5 foot nothing. (I thought nothing of it as the Pro ((a leicester fan himself)) had told me he’d been playing with a couple of youth team lads. But the more and more I think about it, the more and more I think it could’ve been Ricky P. Does he play golf does anyone know?

Played in a team comp so collective responsibility and all that. Shotgun start on the par 5 5th - fvck me, I’ve never walked so far on one hole and needed a calculator to compute my score - proper army golf

Rory done well to get himself into the final pairing in the last round of the TOUR championship 

 

Considering he was +4 after his first two holes of round 1, he's played some immaculate golf since.

 

Six shots behind Scottie is probably too much of a gap but $18m should be a big enough incentive for him!

Interesting that when they walked to the 12th tee, the crown were singing "Rory, Rory!" and not "Scottie, Scottie!"

I can just about remember the days before captains picks existed and you had to qualify outright, now half the team are wild cards which doesn't sit right with me.

 

The next RC will be interesting with all the LIV bollux going on but I really hope it manages to maintain it's special prestige in the game.

Watching LIV golf makes me want to puke. Seeing players 'climbing up the pylon' rather than moving up the leaderboard. Fvck right off.

 

No one gives a shit about the team format. Stupid music pumping out behind every green. The annoying noise of the ball in the hole. Everything stinks.

 

'Fans' being given free tickets as the only way to fill the course. Ridiculously over excited commentators. It's vile.

 

And only 70k watching on YouTube so the numbers are falling not growing.

 

The likes of Poults, Westy and GMac getting absolutely hammered on Twitter and their reputations trashed.

 

I hate everything about LIV. It's totally fvcked the game. Ban them all from the DPWT and the Majors.

I watched it again last night out of sheer morbid curiosity (will be watching the Korn Ferry champs tonight instead).

 

LIV makes my toes curl. The really sad thing for me is how uncompetitive it all is (despite what they tell themselves). Mickelson for example is a shadow of the player he was and he can't even break par these days (even though they've set this Boston course up to be a piece of piss)

 

I reckon some of the players who defected will get bored of it all soon. It's all sizzle and no substance and I'm so disappointed that some Euro hero's have totally trashed their reputations and legacies.

 

Hope they all enjoy spending their blood money and I hope LIV eventually falls flat on it's arse.
