SS is just a level above everybody

Yeah, nothing more boring than a procession on the back 9 of a big tournament

(*unless SS puts a couple in the water on 17/18 but I doubt it...)

Yea Really does take away from it but non of the other top players are even on the board other than Hovland.

Really really really hope the Masters is more competitive

When im watching golf now, its a game that I once felt as a decent amateur, i could get fairly close to pros in SOME ways.

Now I watch the golf and its just bonkers, particularly the clubhead speed and ball speed factors.

Min Woo Lee was recording constant driver ball speeds in excess of 190MPH....its unreal.

Average clubhead speed on tour with driver has gone up 3 miles per hour in the last 5 years alone.

Guys like Matt Fitzpatrick, small guys, cranking out 175mph ball speed at will.

Its actually the guys at the other end of the field, the guys who have to rely on SKILL rather than power to play the course that interest me.

You could say Morikawa falls into that bracket. Hes a little shorter than PGA tour average.

I do feel its leaving a group of great ballstrikers behind now.

One of my favourite swings on tour is Lucas Glover, but he cant compete on a week to week basis, despite being a major champion.

I think it makes performances by the likes of Chris Kirk (Honda winner), Tom Hoge (Sawgrass course record), Russell Henley (Mayakoba winner) etc all the more impressive IMO

If you had to pick a player to be a first time major winner, who would you go for?

Max Homa, surely?

Beautiful swing and playing so well right now.

Zalatoris could also be a shout after going close last season.

Good question this.

Zalatoris always seems to content in majors and has a game that travels well to the different major venues and set ups.

If I was going to suggest a slightly more unfancied player, I think Adam Hadwin is a good shout. A really neat player, very solid tee to green, a sort of PGA Championship type game.

Sungjae Im also falls into that solid tee to green category, and if he was to have a good putting week, a US Open/PGA type game. Not so much an Open or Masters, but a solid all round player.

Currently working for a guy who’s son plays off +4.9 😫😫

I won’t name him because it’s work related but he was in the Spanish amateur open at couple of months ago.

Hearing his parents talk about his golf game makes me sick 🤣

Suspect the organisers will be hoping a LIV golfer doesn't win the Green Jacket but they are allowed to play so if they do then fair enough.

Said to a mate yesterday that I've got a funny feeling a LIV golfer will win it, just to piss everyone off :D

The likes of DJ, Cam Smith, Brookes, Reed and others have all got a decent chance tbf

I really hope Rory gets it done though :fc:

Managed to get Jason day at 40/1 top 10 earlier. Really fancy him to have a good weekend.

Best tournament the masters. Can see it being another disappointment for Rory.

My betting picks are DJ @28/1 and Hovland @ 35/1.

Would love to see Hatton and Fleetwood have a great week as well.

Trying to put my staking plan together and really struggle to nail it down

Too many top level pros

McIlroy, Scheffler & Rahm being all in contention on Sunday would make for great viewing.

While I hope Tom Kim has a good showing on debut.

Not a single post today ... :dunno:

Rory misses the cut and suddenly the Masters is relegated to LIV tour status?
