Longcliffe is my Leics No1.

Played Luffenham in November, but two greens were on temps due to holes being redeveloped and they only knocked us £10 off the price which I thought wasn’t enough

Lots of people raving about Kirby Muxloe recently, but I’ve never played

Nice course, well worth playing. Usually kept in very nice condition and has some really good par 3s on it.

Started hitting the driving range in the new year, ordered some clubs today. Not sure if this will prove to be a good decision or a bad 1

Depends if you like spending regular time out the house, going from a state of calm and happiness to complete blinding rage and headless in the space of a single shot.

It's coming round to golf society time again for 2023. Had a quick look at some of the more hilly courses on the schedule, as my legs don't cope well with hilly courses nowadays as well as pushing a heavy trolley around.

The price they charge for buggies is really scandalous. £25-30 for the round of golf and they charge "visitors" (it's a municipal FFS) £20 just to hire a buggy.

If they were top class courses I wouldn't mind so much but most of them are fairly average bogstandard parkland places.

You not considered investing in an electric trolley?

You'd make your money back within 2 years if you play regularly.

I'm a carrier, always have been. Pretty sure it'll kill me one day, but still!

Yeah I have and looked at a few seriously. Ultimately they are a bit too big and bulky, a big expense, and I probably don't play enough to justify one (15-20 times per year max).

You play enough to scour Facebook Marketplace and maybe pick up a steal from someone though!

Yeah I looked on there and almost pulled the trigger on one or two second hand ones.

Then I saw an British brand called GoKart. They're not as expensive as the bigger brands but the trolleys look even better, with automatic speed control based on how hard you push the handle.

If I was to get one, it'd be one of those.

Good field for the Arnold Palmer starting today.

Always good to watch a bit of this and the players in the leadup to the Masters.

If you had to pick a player to be a first time major winner, who would you go for?

Max Homa, surely?

Beautiful swing and playing so well right now.

Zalatoris could also be a shout after going close last season.

Joel Dahmen because he's the only elite sportsman that has the same ethos as me.

Someone needs to be the 76th best player in the world...

Had Rory for the win last night, he lost by 1 shot and really had a crazy round where he should have won it

Love watching Golf and I rarely ever play

Love the players champ. My favourite tournament that’s not a major, although feels like one. Rough start for Rory

Rory clearly having driver problems and not happy with the new TM Stealth 2.

Hearing his interview afterwards it sounds like he really wants to switch back to the OG Stealth from last year.

But when TM are paying him multi millions to show off their new gear, he has to play it!

Ive tried the Stealth out and to be honest, the Stealth + model Rory has been using is seriously low spin and unforgiving on mis hits.

I know Rory doesnt exactly need the forgiveness, but even at pro level a lot of guys will play the forgiving, higher spin models.

Youll be hooked mate (pardon the pun). Its a sport you can play for a lifetime in some fantastic locations, and no matter your ability level, you can get something out of the game.

I know they make them for the players, but you’d think they’d just do something so custom it would suit him. When you’ve got Rory on your books, you’d imagine they’d make something that helps him win.

They could replicate the OG with Stealth 2 branding surely.
