BNET Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Quality post. The players need the shoulder some responsibility. He bought most of them here in good faith that they would work as a team to better our club. Admittedly some of Pearsons decisions have been strange to say the least. But when the lads cross that line what more can Pearson do? If Kingy wants to wimp out of a tackle, Wood doesn jump, Konch takes too many touches, Kasper kicks it out too quick, Waggy hits the bar, Vardy misses entirely - what more can Pearson do? Sub them all? What Pearson can do is drop players who wimp out of tackles ect, he picks the team, sets the tactics, makes the subs, its his team, he put it together, he put them out there, if it goes wrong, its his fault.. "What can he do once the players cross the line" is the biggest load of rubbish quoted by football fans.

When it's the same players doing the above who got us where we were in January I have to disagree with you
Ric Flair Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 When it's the same players doing the above who got us where we were in January I have to disagree with you But why has it gone wrong? Have the players just decided not to try or are deliberately playing badly? Ever thought that the manager has caused a distinct lack of morale and shot their confidence to bits? I'm sorry but you just don't slump like this without there being something behind it.
Rocky Dennis Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Fact is Nige is going nowhere, he won't fall on his sword and if the owners sack him now he get's a whopping payout. If they sack him when it is mathematically impossible to get promotion or we have lost in the play-offs, then he he gets a minimal payout. It is a clause in his contract, Anything less than promotion is failure.and he is ultimately responsible and will pay the price. He should walk but he won't. Please share with us how exactly you know the details of these clauses.

Why does there habe to a reason other than inexperience amongst other things? People talk about man utd having know how on how to win a title and other teams who don't. It's similar here IMO. Too much too soon, beginner's luck perhaps even. Cardiff have bottled it frequently, Boro are in free fall more so than us. Every season there's a team who drops like a stone and every season there's a team who rockets up. Look at Birmingham this weekend. They go to palace and win 4-0. Two days later they're 3-0 down at half time at home to Wolves! It's just the nature of football, and this time it's our turn to suffer. I read no more to it than that as gut wrenching as these last two months have been
BNET Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 When it's the same players doing the above who got us where we were in January I have to disagree with you King never played in that winning run, he is ever present in this shocking run. Not putting the blame on Kings shoulders but he is being played in a position he can't play, and its a factor in our demise, there are plenty of others, just giving you one example of mismanagement.

When James, who's been influential in our good form is out injured, there's not a lot of options. NP has said he wouldn't get someone in for the sake of it and you can't predict injuries or or future poor form especially when king looked excellent for a time

bald reynard Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 SORRY UNTIL HIS SACKING IS CONFIRMED WE CANT SAY NOTHING ??
buzzy Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 I didn't go either, but I dont call for a managers head over a game I'm not even at. If he was at the game the ops comments would immediately be more valid to me. If he's basing them on Jason Bourne and Youngy I'd ignore them. I also find most of the fans who've wanted Pearson out from the off haven't set foot in the ground this season yet seem to be more vocal that's where your wrong on your last sentence i know leicester fans who go home and away to every game [for more than 30 years] and they want him gone in fact never wanted him back in the first place. by the way i have been 9 times this season .
theessexfox Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Not gone yet. When was the announcement expected? 5pm today wasn't it. Incredible demonstration of loyalty if they stick with him. While many won't agree I'll be very impressed by that kind of commitment to sustainable, long term success. As much as I'd love this to be the case, the probability is that they can't really afford the huge pay off.

RowZ Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 As much as I'd love this to be the case, the probability is that they can't really afford the huge pay off. I think it's become clear now that the financial implications are the reason NP is still here - the silence is deafening. The new fair play rules means we are sailing close to the wind. A large pay off now wouldn't help and I think NP can be sacked in May without compo (but only hearsay). So NP in that case may actually prefer to be sacked now and walk with a huge pay off, rather than see out another few weeks of his salary, knowing he'll definitely be gone after the last game. The Thai's have to weigh up the gamble of a pay off now, against the odds of a new man getting promotion and £150M for the club.

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Blimey still no news then, must be sticking with big Nige then?
Harry - LCFC Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 As much as I'd love this to be the case, the probability is that they can't really afford the huge pay off. Hmm perhaps. But if he finishes this season I really think our best option is to then give him in the next one too. We are moving forward, we've just fvcked up a bit this time, I just don't think that will happen 2 seasons in row. Hope they feel the same.
hackneyfox Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 I'm not even looking forward to going to Brighton on Saturday so please don't mention the idea of another season with coco in charge.
artursteppe Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 You know some so he's wrong? Good logic. Nothing to do with logic, more to do with insight.I know you like Pearson, you are much like Pearson, as it happens - devoid of any tactical acumen. Pearson was always the wrong choice. Absolutely clueless about what is required from a midfield, and he always has been. Furthermore, he will never change - incapable, too stubborn. Tactically inept!

The Thai's have to weigh up the gamble of a pay off now, against the odds of a new man getting promotion and £150M for the club. More gossip & conjecture presented as fact. My opinion is they sounded out Adkins around the time of our Sheff Wed defeat. He picked a Premier League team over us, with new extremely rich owners and a bumper £23m parachute payment to keep their team intact... According to McDermott's interview today, Adkins spoke to McDermott who couldn't speak highly enough of his former owners. If Adkins was to have joined us then we'd be on our 5th manager in 3 years... Enough to put anyone off. Since Adkins has been snapped up, there isn't anyone available who's a 'must have' probably until there's more movement in the summer & importantly, why would anyone any good come to our club in order to be the 5th manager in 3 years. With that record we're hardly a catch, although fans with delusions of grandeur can't see that. It's also probably widely known that with Konch, Danns, Beckford, Gally, Wellens and quite a few others (maybe Schmeichel, King, Nugent) on wage deals unsuitable for the division and completely incompatible with keeping under an FFP ceiling that we'll essentially be a selling club in the short term - Whereas other clubs with vacant manager's positions such as Leeds don't have that problem All just my opinion of course.
mackiepas Posted 3 April 2013 Author Posted 3 April 2013 When I started this topic on Monday I was really angry as most of you probably were. I have supported NP throughout the season and to be fair we have played some of the best football this season that i've seen in a long time, but we've also played some of the worst in the last 10 games. So maybe It was a bit of a kneejerk reaction that's built up over the last month and a half... So, looking at the table as it stands we are still unbelievably in a very good position, and I now believe if we can get a reaction out of the players this week and go to Brighton and get a win by any means necessary then its possible we can go into the last 5 games on a high and build form just in time for the play offs... On the flip of that, the bad run could continue and we could fizzle away into mid table mediocrity.. Either way, I am ever the optimist, and having just got my tickets for Brighton on Saturday I will go there and sing and support my team and manager throughout the game and hope that our fortunes change... We have the players, we just don't have the form at the moment, but that can change in a heartbeat!!!

In a funny way it might help us that we are playing against each other in the remaining games
Vardinhio Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 I think if he was being axed he would have been by now, he's staying.
Mister Pastry Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Please share with us how exactly you know the details of these clauses. I was told this information a long time ago way before this bad run had started by way of a conversation with a reliable and trustworthy person. I simply can't say more than that for fear of repercussion. I cannot honestly say 100% this info' is correct, but I have no reason to doubt it. So to believe it or not is entirely up to you and make of it what you will.
