We need to assemble a team that can win promotion. I accept that there may be a case for Nugent for staying on, but not the other three.

They have as much to answer to as Pearson imo. Prove you want it, prove your worth is all i'm saying for the last 6 games. Play for your future.
Fox42 Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 I can see why fans are listing 10 players... but can we afford to shift out that many? we only have around 25 (when loans come back) in our squad. I'd say chuck out: Wellens Beckford Vardy Dyer/Gallagher (keep one loan one) I believe Danns could offer something else to this squad and he should have another try during the pre season friendlies, same goes to our strikers that are below the rankings, bar Vardy (get some dosh from him to buy a decent, experienced striker). Keep all our defenders. Don't be upset if Knockaert, Marshall, Schmeichel or Nugent leaves our happy camp as well.

Selling the lot will do no good, not to mention writing off players like marshall and waghorn when they are as young as they are is completely stupid.

Just because they are young it does not follow that they will invariably improve. I thought that Andy Peake, Dave Buchanan and Tommy Williams were going to be world beaters when they came into the first team but it never happened.

Dont get me wrong hes not been very good lately but he'll come good.

He knows he's a backup goalkeeper and is happy to be one and play in u21 games, better that than bring in another first team keeper and will be adamant to play games and not be happy if he doesnt? As for James! "What has he done here" Do people just think of a midfielder as attacking roles? he's a DEFENSIVE midfielder and has done very well considering this being his first season with us, he did well when he was in the team week in week out, his contribution to our game is always never shown...
Jaspa Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 I wish there was some more clarity on Waghorns situation, the lad looked like he was breaking back into the set-up and regaining form of previous; even his set pieces were pretty handy, and now he cant even get a place in the squad for the likes of Kane and and off form pairing of Wood and Nugent. Which is wierd because Nige is normally known to sticking to some of his favourates and we did pay £2m+ on the lad to play games for us. Its not only his situation though, there seems to be irregularities all throughout the squad which scream out of problens; what the hell has been going on.. I dont like just throwing players onto a heap saying theyre not good enough and discarding them, If people start to get behind the idea for a certain player to be hounded out effectively, we'd all seem like a bunch of t**ts making ill-informed, mis-judged and possibly harmfull decisions . . . . . which I know some of you are fully capable of anyways
Loggy98 Posted 3 April 2013 Posted 3 April 2013 Keep the young ones and get rid of the older players who have nothing to offer anymore, I think Gallagher and wellens overall have been good players but they probably have nothing more to offer!
