ADK Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 Am i the only one who couldn't care less? 87 is a decent age and she had been ill so it's not really sad from a human perspective, as for politics it's not like the death of an old woman is going to change the course of history or current politics.
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 It's always said she did kill area's like my home town; I'm from a northern pit-mining town. But she didn't take anything from anyone either, and at least she would defend the country.
HEGGSY Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 Who is Margeret Thatcher and what did she do? Was she the one who was on I'm a celebrity a few years back?
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 Who is Margeret Thatcher and what did she do? Was she the one who was on I'm a celebrity a few years back? She was PM... No that was her daugher I think.
HEGGSY Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 She was PM... No that was her daugher I think. Thought someone would bite well done. Yeah it was Carol Thatcher I think.
MrSpaM Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 She's was no worse than every other douchebag we've had in charge since. She probably did more good for the country than the last 3-4 PM's have done combined.

If defending the country involves making huge cuts to the armed forces and withdrawing defense for the Falkland Islands that led to an invasion. Honestly i can't stand Thatcher being glorified for the Falklands, her government were in process of flogging our aircraft carriers at the time and had the Argentines not brought forward their invasion plans they would now own the islands. Instead a desperate gamble on a very risky military operation results in a landslide election win, never mind the troops that got killed...
Bellend Sebastian Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 It's true what they say, if you can't think of something unpleasant to say about someone, don't say anything at all
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 Thought someone would bite well done. Yeah it was Carol Thatcher I think. I was being sarcastic, hence the '..' I am Rod Hull Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I come from an ex-mining community in South Derbyshire. Generations of my family have worked down the pit and i`m proud of it. That slag and her cronies took away much more than the miners jobs she also took away the communities spirit. She smashed heavy industry in this country for one reason only and that was to break the Unions thus breaking the working man. I will raise a toast to her death on behalf of all of my family past and present that served the once proud mining industry.
The Guvnor Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I should imagine the Miners, and their communities, who were completely Fvcked by her savage approach in 1984 won't be too upset by this news!
Leicesterpool Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 Wasn't the biggest fan of her's, but i like how quickly she handled the Falklands Situation.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 Wasn't the biggest fan of her's, but i like how quickly she handled the Falklands Situation. I bet you weren't even alive when she resigned you fool!
Leicesterpool Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I bet you weren't even alive when she resigned you fool! Yes of course, but i'm aware in what she did.
MrSpaM Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I should imagine the Miners, and their communities, who were completely Fvcked by her savage approach in 1984 won't be too upset by this news! I imagine in 20 years time were going to be celebrating the deaths of all the troops that have died in this 'war against terrorism' *cough* stealing another country's oil *cough* as well. Best get stitching that Tony Blair rules ok flag, what a hero...
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I bet you weren't even alive when she resigned you fool! I doubt any of us were alive during the War, but we all still respect and admire Winston Churchill.
David Guiza Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 Granted being alive during her political reign does suggest that a person would know more about her and her ideals than someone who wasn't. As I'm only 21 myself, i can only remember part of John Major onwards, but I'd still like to think i know more than enough about what went on to have an opinion. I wasn't around for Hitler or Stalin either, but i have been educated on the area in much the same way. In 20years time there'll be people younger than people of my generation commenting on Blair's illegal war and so they should, providing they know about it. I really don't see how not being alive at the time makes a persons opinion or sentiments moot.
Rincewind Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 The Falklnands war gave her and her government a boost from the 'gunho' section of Britain. A lot of people like a good war as portrayed by the media and the Rule Britania flags were out in force. If it was not for the war she may have been voted out earlier.
Guest MattP Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I'm so devastated I didn't the chance to leave school at 15 and work down the pits for 50 years. Bitch.
Rincewind Posted 8 April 2013 Posted 8 April 2013 I don't think there was much work to replace the pits for the communities where they were.
