Harry - LCFC Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 The commentator said the attendance today is 42,000, League Two final was 47,000. Funny how yesterday's clubs are probably bigger than today's.
AKCJ Posted 19 May 2013 Author Posted 19 May 2013 Got to feel sorry for Brentford. They've had it worse than ourselves.
Tuna Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Would have liked to see Brentford win, well done to Yeovil and to Gary Johnson who is a fantastic manager, was harshly dismissed by Bristol City. Great to see a club like Yeovil in our division, what an amazing achievement!
Fox92 Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 See you next year then Yeovil. I think we can sympathise with Brentford, the penalty and all that.
Kitchandro Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Alan Parry's starting to piss me off with his list of so-called championship clubs. Naming Forest and Derby twice and not us once is insulting enough, but Bolton and Boro takes the piss. Anyway, it wasn't a great game, feel for Brentford, but pleased for Yeovil, remarkable for them to be in the 2nd tier.
Corky Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Incredible achievement, Yeovil are a tiny club yet will be one division away from the elite
StanSP Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Alan Parry pissed me off continuously thinking there was 5 minutes' stoppage time instead of 6. Bellend .
Unabomber Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Alan Parry pissed me off continuously thinking there was 5 minutes' stoppage time instead of 6. Bellend . Yeah that was cringeworthy "and any moment now" yeah and the next minute!
ScouseFox Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Loved the "just 30 seconds or so away from the second tier" despite there clearly being 2 and a bit minutes left on the massive clock in the corner of the screen. Pleased Yeovil are up. Like to see a small club do well (unless it's at our expense).
SystonFox Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Brentford had it worse than us. They missed a spot kick for PROMOTION! And at their expense they saw Donny win the TITLE.
Soar Fox Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Brentford had it worse than us. They missed a spot kick for PROMOTION! And at their expense they saw Donny win the TITLE. I'd say we had at worse. Least brentford had the opportunity to go up via the playoffs. We missed the spot kick, Watford scored and that's was out season over with.
SystonFox Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 I see what you're saying but ultimately we still had a game to go aswell. If their kick had gone in that was it, pitch invasion, game over championship footy. Now they stay in league one for another year. Ours was heartbreaking dont get me wrong but I think theirs was worse. Crazy how the same thing happened within 2 weeks though eh!

Thinking about it you are right, 1 kick away from promotion and like you said we still would have had another game to play. It is crazy, especially as it was the same referee in both games.
kingfox Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Feel sorry for Brentford, but Yeovil were second favourites for relegation at the start of the season, and were 80/1 to get promotion. That is some story and effort in itself, they have a great young squad, but can't really see them surviving in the Championship.

KFS Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Yeovil's current away end: We will literally take that over haha
Corky Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Was a good thing about today, both sides have away terraces so it didn't matter too much on that front.

BHAFC Braders Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Brentord have pubs in each corner of the ground. and isn't in the middle of nowhere.
Fox92 Posted 19 May 2013 Posted 19 May 2013 Remember when we went in League One. I believe Mattock scored, decent goal as well.
