Good deal all round, Beckford will get more games , we get him off the wages.. well bolton may have been ripped off. lol

Just Gally wellens and danns to go!

If this is so close why is not mentioned on sky. does not even mention having a medical?

Believe it or not, Sky aren't the be all and end all of the football world.

Yep, a lot of transfer deals are seemingly reported wrongly as most of them include the total we'd pay if all add ons were met. Add ons in these instances being performance and promotion related which weren't met.

Amazing how papers slant things too - last week the Sun were reporting the Carroll deal to be worth £30m or something. Well yes if you include his salary for 6 years etc. But for all the add on's to kick in he probably has top wank the pope off whilst beating Sepp Blatter to death with the world cup, having just scored a hat trick in England's victory over Mongolia in the final!

What about the terrible attitude most people on here said he had?

fourth official is either Beckford himself or someone he knows from whats been said before

I've posted this before, but I'll post it again that King once gave an interview in the fox fanzine (probably about a year ago now). He said himself that Beckford was the nicest person at the club, and before every training session would make sure all the boys are ok and had a good night.

People just jump to conclusions with attitudes, getting the idea from either what other people say or the media itself (that's the biggest influence).

Pleased Beckford has gone to get his wages off of the books (the most important aspect here regardless), but I did want him to succeed in the end because the stick he got on here (major) wasn't always warranted in my opinion. He's moved to a decent club in Bolton, and I have no doubt, they will be challenging for automatic promotion this season.

Good lad is JB and yes he will be paid off since he didn't request a transfer.

Any other news about players going out or in?

BTW what happened to your Twitter account?

Beckford if anything proves being a 'nice guy' doesn't lead to commitment on the pitch. I'm not disputing that he could be a nice bloke at all, but my personal opinion from watching his performances for Leicester is that he doesn't have a good attitude on the pitch. He seems lazy and strolls around making little effort.

Being 'poison to the dressing room' may still apply too. Even if he's not necessarily acting a twat, do you not think some of our players will be a bit pissed off that he's being paid far more than they are to do nowhere near what they do? I certainly would be pissed off.

He was brought here on deadline day, what is the one thing that would entice him from Everton to Leicester on deadline day? Money. I'm not saying our entire squad are Leicester through and through but he was only here for one thing and his performances (or lack of) suggest that too. It can be covered up with 'Mr nice guy' all people want, I think on the balance it's an absolutely exceptional deal for us if we've raked in a million for him.

Nope its all quiet for now, no new faces at the training ground, no gossip doing the rounds.

Interesting that is actually. Not bought it though - his performances have suggested clear to me he has no burning desire to succeed for us.

I think he is better as a big fish in a little pond, relished it at Huddersfield, he can't be blamed for Leicester throwing the wages at him that they did, but he also is twice the player under a manage that is confident he can score in every game and instead of after a few bad games drops him, that is the way he is, he came on and changed games at Everton, his attitude was second to none it was clear as day he wanted to prove himself in the Premier League so badly but sadly for him if DM doesn't like you then you're Everton career is as good as over, he may look lazy on a pitch, he might look disinterested but its not the case, he trained with the reserve teams to build up fitness at both Everton and Leicester as his own decision, some players just look the lazy type, Yakubu for example when he scored 23 goals in one season for us, he just literally walked around the pitch, but he didn't camp in his own 18 yard box therefore he is no good for Moyes.

In fairness, judging their time here, Yak was a much better goalscorer. I'd happily have had Yak being our highest paid player. We just never saw enough from JB to warrant that.

Fair play really. But that sort of doesn't add up - surely he wasn't a big fish at Everton?

He's had a fair few runs in our team but he hasn't ever really hit form. It's a decent move for all parties.

For what it's worth I thought Yakubu was twice the player. I could forgive his lack of work rate because he genuinely was quality.

No he wasn't, when I say big fish in a little pond I mean in terms of being the 'main' player, the fans favourite, the one hyped about etc like at Leeds and more recently Huddersfield.

According to Pearson last year he asked to leave, could be a case to argue there if that's true.

Possibly, not sure how long clubs make these loyalty bonus' last, seemed last summer it was more Leicester forcing it than himself, hence why his agent frantically denied everything going even loan moves just stating he was more than happy etc.

Any other interesting news about us Toffee? Many of us are getting very bored with our pre season activities so far

Posted

Nope nothing just that training is very quiet, they are missing a few who played international games. Beckford has definitely gone though.
