LCFC FOX Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Goes to Everton since they still owe them money from the deal anyway. Why would it go to Everton if we don't play him his 50th cap? How much did we actually pay for this shit
Toffee_Fox Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 they still owe monthly instalments and FFP looks at how much clubs still owe other clubs etc due to more and more clubs going bust owing others money still so the roughly 800k received will go straight to Everton, the club are just happy to get him off the wage bill and wipe out the debt owed to Everton in one move.
Toffee_Fox Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Just makes me wonder what the hell's taking this deal so long. Freedman's even been quoted on how he intends to use Beckford, it just doesn't add up that he's still here. Hes not, not at training and the players have been told he has gone to Bolton.
LCFC FOX Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Surprised why Bolton haven't confirmed it yet tbh, I seen on another thread Susan Whelan is on holiday. Maybe we waiting for her to come back to make this official too? Anyway with Beckford gone lets hope for someone to come in on cheaper wages
buzzy Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 good to see all of you are happy know that beckford as gone. god help that story in one of the papers yesterday about nugent missing start of season because of injury. then we would have to play waghorn or futacs[oh my god something to look forward to

You don't think its a clever ploy by Bolton to try and get 250k+ off the asking price then or something? wait until right before everything is finalized, knowing full well we have everything set in motion for him to leave ( including telling our own players it seems) and then at the last minute try to get a lower fee knowing how desperate we are to get rid of him?

This is exactly what I've been thinking. Last minute haggling surely? If we've allowed him to go and train up there then that's not exactly strengthening our bargaining position.

Aus Fox Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Surly once a transfer fee has been agreed you can't start haggling again
buzzy Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Have you heard of Jamie Vardy before? oh yeh i forgot my faith as returned
MC Prussian Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 oh yeh i forgot my faith as returned Excellent. Here's a kiss from Jon:
RizLCFC Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Bolton want Beckford on a free, what the hell is going on? http://www.burndenaces.co.uk/2013/07/07/bolton-hope-to-land-beckford-on-free-transfer.html

If we've really let him train with them then we are in a very weak position.
RizLCFC Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 This is what I feared might happen. If we've really let him train with them then we are in a very weak position. If we've agreed a fee why are we discussing a severance package?
Tielemans63 Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 If we've agreed a fee why are we discussing a severance package? Severance package is what JB gets presumably for signing a less lucrative contract with a different club. Say he was on £25k a week he isn't just going to sign a contract £15k like that - City will have to give him a percentage of his remaining contract to get rid of him. Transfer fee is separate altogether.

CloudFox Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Can we not just get rid of him already? This is really beginning to get ridiculous--surely Bolton want him for their pre-season, so should hurry the feck up.
CloudFox Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 I see thanks for that. That article makes it seem like we will 'mutually release him' and so Bolton don't pay a fee. Yeah, to be fair the article does seem to suggest it's on a free, even though it's technically not. Confusing.
Tielemans63 Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 I see thanks for that. That article makes it seem like we will 'mutually release him' and so Bolton don't pay a fee. To be fair mate it does read a bit like that. My guess is that a fee was agreed bar a few details, Becks was told he can go and train with Bolton. Bolton have then thought to themselves 'hold on, they are absolutely desperate to get rid of him, he's here training with us already - let's drive the price down further as there's no going back for the player now.' I doubt it'll be on a free but it wouldn't surprise me if they drove the price down from £800k to say £500k.
yorkie1999 Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 So basically Bolton want him for nothing and expect us to pay half his wages. We've got some retarded negotiators at leicester.
sylofox Posted 7 July 2013 Posted 7 July 2013 Get him back and tell them to feck off. Nxt they will be saying we will take him but you gotta pay our back four untill xmas.
