Matt Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 Meh, well that's the most frustrating result I could have hoped for. I bet on Arsenal, they didn't win, that's ok, they were losing, but they managed to grab a draw. I either wanted them to win and i'd win my bet OR lose then I could laugh, a draw means I have neither outcome. Wankers.
Raj Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 What do you know? The blokes refusing to play for belgium I didn't say i said anything...Im just going by what englands manager said....like uncle Albert stud..you are abit of a helmet
Fox92 Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 You wait all season for an away goal, and three come at once. Didn't expect that result at all.
Corky Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 An Allardyce team actually crossed the halfway line in an away game
Jimothy Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 Is Leicesterpool still talking up Spurs as titles contenders? I know title contenders lose, but they don't lose 3-0 at home to West Ham, a team that hadn't scored away all season.

Soar Fox Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 Liverpool could seriously be title contenders this season. They've got one if not thee best strike forces in the league, midfield looks solid and Mignolet will look a snip at £9 million. In the past few years they've always played very good against the bigger teams but struggled against the so called lesser teams. This season they seem to have changed that though and that's why I think they've got a genuine chance of winning it.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 We're not title contenders, we will go through a blip soon where we will slip up against the poorer teams in the League. Also a few players short, an injury to Gerrard, Suarez or Sturridge will set us back.
Finnegan Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 People need to calm the **** down about Liverpool. They've had one of the easiest starts imaginable in their fixtures. Even United are, let's be honest, the weakest of the major sides. We'll see how good they are when they have to play Arsenal, Tottenham, City and Chelsea (presumably in reasonably short succession?) And like Albert says, they've a couple of undoubtedly class individuals but they're still several players short of a squad.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 Well I wouldn't say Stoke, Villa, United, Swansea, Southampton Sunderland and Palace are easy fixtures to start the season, especially Swansea, Sunderland and Villa away. We have played and started the season very well, especially for saying we didn't have our best player for them first 5 games and at this point last season we only had 6 points, it's a massive improvement. A couple of players short but the signs are good, Brendan Rodgers is getting in the right players and the way we play football is a breath of fresh air. Be even better when Coutinho is back, an attacking three of Coutinho, Suarez and Sturridge is frighteningly good, its just going to be the hard task of getting all three on song!
ScouseFox Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 They have had an easy start like. Arsenal have had a very similar start fixture wise, too (Villa, Sunderland, Swansea, big local derby against top team at home, Stoke) and are in the same position. Man City's start has been pretty kind too yet they find themselves 3 points adrift. Only United have played quite a few top teams so far. Gonna be a long season with loads of twists and turns.
Soar Fox Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 Liverpool not being involved in any European competition will be a massive bonus for them.

Apart from United and Southampton all of those sides will probably finish bottom half. It's been an incredibly easy start, but you can only beat what's put in front of you. Liverpool are doing well and look a good bet for the top 6 and I'd even go so far as to say an outside (maybe 25%?) chance of the top 4. But saying that I can't see them finishing ahead of 3 of City, United, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 October 2013 Posted 6 October 2013 I don't see how they can be classed as 'incredibly easy'.
Finnegan Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 Of course not, Lofty, you're the most biased person on the forum.
Uncle Albert Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 Of course not, Lofty, you're the most biased person on the forum. That's not biased. Arsenal have surely had easier?
Bobby Hundreds Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 Have Arsenal got to hand back the quadruple now?
ScouseFox Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 Have Arsenal got to hand back the quadruple now? Not whilst they're still top of the league and in all 3 cups, no
Uncle Albert Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 What the **** is Schmiechel smoking? Thinks De Gea's save v Sunderland is the greatest in Premier League history?! Helmet.
AKCJ Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 What the **** is Schmiechel smoking? Thinks De Gea's save v Sunderland is the greatest in Premier League history?! Helmet. To be fair, it was ****ing insane. If it was in the last minute of the Manchester Derby with United 1-0 up knowing a win would have sealed the league then it would have been the greatest save ever. It's just the circumstances that lower it's worth.
Guest MattP Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 What kind of a person refuses to play for the country they were born in?

Finnegan Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 What kind of a person refuses to play for the country they were born in? Loads of possibilities there. Imagining you, what if your dad had taken the family abroad for work and you'd spent the first five or six years of your life in - say - Hong Kong or Dubai before moving back? Or, maybe, your parents had emigrated to Germany, you were born and raised there but grew up supporting England because your dad was a huge fan and he got you in to football? Proudest day of his life is your first England cap, even though you're born and raised German citizen? If we're talking Januzaj (am I spelling that right?) he's born to a family with Kosovar (which has to be confusing enough as it is) roots who've presumably, fairly justifiably, fled war? I imagine that would give you a fairly strong cultural identity, he's apparently also got Turkish family connections? He's born and raised in Belgium which - between the Flemish and the Walloon - isn't exactly simple either, then goes on to call England home as he's thrust to sporting stardom as a kid? All of that before you're even twenty? You can probably forgive him for being a bit confused.
Uncle Albert Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 I don't think I would Januzaj to play for England if I'm being honest, I was never keen on the idea of Arteta or Cudicini playing for England when all them rumours and speculation were around. I truly believe he will be a fantastic player but he isn't English, I know people will disagree at the thought of turning our noses up at a hot prospect but that's my thought on him. I doubt very much if he continues to play this season and Belgium try and call him up for the World Cup next summer then he will take up their offer.
