Corky Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 He'd have to wait three years before playing if he chose England, can't see him doing that.
ScouseFox Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 What kind of a person refuses to play for the country they were born in? Enter LargeAl (or whatever he's called these days).
Finnegan Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 Enter LargeAl (or whatever he's called these days). Michael Owen (don't give me that "born in Chester" shit, that's basically like being born on holiday in Benidorm and telling everyone you're Spanish.)
Leicesterpool Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 MON is being linked to the Fulham job according to Teamtalk.com, not surprised really but I can't see him ever managing a london club.
Leicesterpool Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 Poyet for the Mackems then. Yeah just heard, a bit of a gamble really never managed in the premier league before and he's expected to pick up a team that sit rock bottom and need seven points to safety. I would think he's too much alike Di Canio.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 No offence but you know nothing either. The lads not refused, he's just keeping his options open, as he has never been invited to play for the Belgium senior side. You are the same person as well who has gone all quiet when two of us took you up on your Gerrard will pull out of the England squad bet aren't you? helmet. I am the same person though forgot I'd made thst post. it was a daft bet as St Steven of Anfailed only pulls out of friendlies.Unlike you i dont live on this forum.its my belief he has been offered to play for belgium something he turned down.

He did, citing a preference to play for Albania (his heritage is predominantly Kosovar-Albanian.)

shen Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 What the **** is Schmiechel smoking? Thinks De Gea's save v Sunderland is the greatest in Premier League history?! Helmet. I don't usually defend Daddy Schmeichel, because he's a massive tool, but he did say "one of the greatest", not "the greatest". What kind of a person refuses to play for the country they were born in? Don't. Just don't.
Corky Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 Foreign? Vicente might agree with Leicesterpool though: http://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/10428541.Vicente_blasts_Poyet/

Oh that was well witty, AnFailed instead of Anfield, you're well funny and original. So how are you paying your debt? Actually just donate it to the running of this forum. Like I said he won England's player of the year, so can't be pulling out of to many can he and underperforming? You wouldn't realise that being the idiot that you are, comeback to this with some really cool response mate, you're wicked at them.
Dan Posted 7 October 2013 Posted 7 October 2013 People need to calm the **** down about Liverpool. They've had one of the easiest starts imaginable in their fixtures. Even United are, let's be honest, the weakest of the major sides. We'll see how good they are when they have to play Arsenal, Tottenham, City and Chelsea (presumably in reasonably short succession?) And like Albert says, they've a couple of undoubtedly class individuals but they're still several players short of a squad. Pretty much this, same with Arsenal as well. I'm sticking by Chelsea.

Says it all.
Uncle Albert Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Says the Liverpool fan from Barrow on a Leicester forum? Says it all. What does that have to do with anything I have just said? You absolute moron. If you're wrong about something just say so, you're making yourself look even stupider by coming back each time with irrelevant shit. Oh and well done on saying you don't live on the forum, you replied at 6:39am..
The Year Of The Fox Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 I was wrong about gerrard though there's still time. I've not seen you say you're wrong about that man utd winger turning down Belgium yet?
Uncle Albert Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Like I said he didn't turn them down, as the Belgian Senior side never called him up, it was the under 21s..
marko Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 I was wrong about gerrard though there's still time. Gerrard hardly ever pulls out of squads, even friendlies. He sometimes only plays 55/60 minutes of friendlies, but that's understandable given his age and the fact there's nothing on the line. In fact, I'd say he's the least likely to pull out and you certainly don't become the joint 5th highest capped player for your country if you pull out of squads.
Guest MattP Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Don't. Just don't. What? He's born in Brussels, he should be playing for Belgium.
Finnegan Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 What? He's born in Brussels, he should be playing for Belgium. See my post earlier in the thread, nothing is that simplistic, it was a reply to you. Alternatively, what about shen? Born in Belgium because his parents were travelling round a bit when he was a nipper, pretty sure they're Danish, he considers himself Danish, lives now in Copenhagen and follows Denmark. He should play for Belgium? For the record, I do agree Januzaj shouldn't represent England.

He should play for Belgium? Sorry i forgot to reply to that. It's complex but he's born and bred Belgium, to compare him to Shen would be daft as Shen wasn't born in Belgium and went onto live there until he was an adult.

With the crop of players Belgium have coming through, why would he want to play for anyone else?
Uncle Albert Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Pretty sure the Welsh captain was born and raised in England too, good old Ashley Williams!
Bert Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Pretty sure the Welsh captain was born and raised in England too, good old Ashley Williams! Ashley Williams, who still classes himself as English as well.
Finnegan Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Do you agree on King playing for Wales? With the crop of players Belgium have coming through, why would he want to play for anyone else? I don't really like it, no. It's better than when the rugby side had a bunch of Kiwis in the late 90s / early 00s but it's still a bit cheap. Like I said, though, I think Januzaj is a bit of an odd case. He's clearly been raised with a strong Kosovar-Albanian identity, if what's in the press is anything to go by. It also seems his dad is a big influence on him, so you can understand if he has some loyalty to the country of his dad's birth.
