Orkneyfox Posted 3 June 2013 Posted 3 June 2013 The show needs a restart, Legend IB is correct, the latest series has been pants as far as the story goes. ms Coleman looks good but the constant flirting between her and the Doctor is just wrong. New faces may be just what it needs. Tennant was good but I agree that Eccleston was the best of the recent crop.
Rincewind Posted 3 June 2013 Posted 3 June 2013 Not sure who would be good. If it was female it may have to be an older woman and one that is a bit wacky, like jennifer Saunders or Dawn French,. Well someone like that otherwise it would be difficult not to think any male character good or bad would not try to chat her up if good looking and had sexappeal. I hope the present storyline has finished and they just have normal episodes with the Doctor solving a mystery or two.
Ozwin Posted 3 June 2013 Posted 3 June 2013 So I kind of promised someone I'd start watching Doctor Who even though I think it looks absolutely poo. What do I do guys?

cambridgefox Posted 4 June 2013 Posted 4 June 2013 stephen hawkins He is more suited to " team dalek" with his inability to go up stairs and voice.

ithuriel Posted 11 November 2013 Posted 11 November 2013 Is anybody actually going to see the 50th anniversary special in the cinema? Some have already sold out
The Doctor Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 Looks ****ing quality - got tickets to watch it at the media museum with housemates. Roll on the 23rd.
Legend_in_blue Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 It worries me that it's only 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Yet with Moffat writing it, maybe that's all I'm willing to take. I hope he (Moffat) has got this one right. Historically, this is major big time for DW imo. If it flops, DW is done. Capaldi or no Capaldi. Done. Over. Finished. Moffat out! Looks great on the trailers though and I'm sure Tennant will do a great job. Bringing back the fez worries me though, it had its time before, don't bring it back just to guarantee laughs.
Legend_in_blue Posted 12 November 2013 Posted 12 November 2013 It reached its peak with Tennant. The last episode involving Tennant was an absolute masterclass in how to do DW the right way. It was brilliant TV. Apart from a few decent moments, fez's included, Matt Smith hasn't been as good because the stories have suffered. Not his fault, I quite like him, but he can only do what he can do with the material he's given.

Not his fault, I quite like him, but he can only do what he can do with the material he's given. I've got to say out of the two I would say i'd prefer Smith, as i think he acts it better and shows a bit more darker edge to the doctor, however i've got to say i think he's leaving the show too soon I still think he hasn't properly established himself in the role yet, i think he still had a couple more years of him. Tennant to be fair was good in some ways, where at times his doctor was unpredictable but you've got to admit he was given so many terrible episodes to work through especially in his first two years! Though his final too year his "doctor" was starting to get stale. Eccleston out of the three acted the role the best, but again given some awful story lines.
The Blur Posted 13 November 2013 Posted 13 November 2013 So I kind of promised someone I'd start watching Doctor Who even though I think it looks absolutely poo. What do I do guys? Look up the storyline on Wiki then at least you can pretend to know what is going on.
Legend_in_blue Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 What the heck is going on now? Anyone watch the mini episode on iplayer today? Good to see McGann back but he should have regenerated into Ecclestone. I don't like Moffat bending the rules. It's not straight forward at all. There's a load of nonsense kicking round about how this regeneration doesn't count. People really getting their knickers in a twist over it. Right now it's a mess.
Beliall Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 overall im a bit meh about dr who. tennant was brilliant but hes no ecclestone. when its on I watch it each week, series are way too short tho, when it ends, I mss it for exactly one Saturday.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 William Hartnell, the original Doctor was my favourite. I watched all his from day one, and was gutted when he left. Patrick Troughton did a damn good job though.
