Its all very depressing but we've been here before will anything change?

Anyway pearce isnt the type of manager we need at this level, having said that what has he got to work with?, there are lots of players out for various reasons including some who have 'opted out' which is terrrible and those who have should never have the opportunity to play for England again.

2-0.  Incredibly easy for Norway.

Zero flair, creativity, bravery, guile, or indeed pride in themselves or their country.

Make no mistake I think the state of English football is at its lowest ebb in history with the future looking darker, and darker, and darker.

With a Premier League also owned by foreigners, with foreign managers, and foreign players, its never going to get better.

"English" in name alone.

Attacking doesn't look threatening at all either though.

I mean Norway have defended ok, but we haven't really posed any threat whatsoever.

Loving Pearce copying Spain's no striker approach. Bet he thought he was onto a right winner there. Fúcking disabled.

We are fvcking shit. Every player having a shocker. 2-0 down and Pearce is playing with Zaha up front on his own, fvcking Zaha! Ince is DJ Campbell v.2

To be fair I do think we have some decent talent, need a better manager to actually develop them though.

Going off the idea of signing Dawson.

Wonder if we can take a look at these Norwegians although we're making them look better than they are. 3 good finishes.

quick switch over to the cricket we're actually winning in that!

Of course we are, we are pretty awesome at sport...look at the Olympics...its just football where we are eternally ****ed up.

A joke.

Thought I was watching Ghana at the end. Racist.

I'd love Pearce to get the chop now.

I don't think circumcising him will help his managerial capabilities.

I'd love Pearce to get the chop now.

Replace him with one of the Neville's !

I'd go with one of the Neville's, get scholes and beckham involved as well.

Pearce has been a total asshat in this competition, after we lost the first game he basicaly came out and said 'Its not my fault, were missing our best players',  what type of idiot would spout this shit out about a team he has picked and was supposed to be leading, I left it out the other day avoiding impossible success but now were out.

Hes still out blaming the players after today. Why have The FA given him such responcibility for so long, its pathetic and humiliating.

Couldn't watch England but what a piss poor result that is.

Saw Italy's game though. They are truly brilliant. Some of the stuff they play even dwarves anything we do at first team level.

I don't think the league is over-rated as such. I don't think anyone would claim it is the most technical league. Its extremely fast and physical in comparison to the rest of the world which makes it a good spectacle, hence the massive interest around the world.

I read a piece recently calling for the league cup to have its rules amended forcing teams to field 12 "British" players in a match day squad. This obviously throws up its own issues but something radical like that may be required?

I'd say it is. English sides have been outclassed on the continent for the last two seasons now and I know Chelsea won it, but come on, no-one is telling me the way they won that is something that'll ever bring them long-term success.

Don't get me wrong it isn't a weak league, but people who claim its the strongest in the world are totally wide of the mark if you ask me.

Too many important players missing, they have now progressed to the senior team.
