40/1 for the drop I see

i believe we had one of the tightest defences in  the championship when  we got relegated to league one.

didn't really help did it?

It didn't help because he had f'all in midfield and limited attackers. We currently have a striker who scored 20+ last year, one who scored 16 and more talented midfielders than we could have dreamt of back then.

Hence why we finished in the top six and didn't get relegated last season.

if only we could use the attack from one season and the defence from another, we'd be in the champions league by now!

The attack and defence last year were both good, better than most other recent years anyhow. What they weren't is consistent.

every team hits a purple patch and a bad patch in a season. our problem was we hit the bad patch and couldn't work out  how to turn it around. only 11 pts more would've seen us take automatic promotion. we had 1 win in 12 games in march/april combined. even as bad as 5 wins in 12 would've seen us take 2nd place outright. shocking.

Pearson remains in charge. FFP is here. Lets see what he can do.

Beckford is hopefully off.. Good

Second season with Pearson's squad. Lets get behind him and assess the situation later.

It is indeed, hence why I have expressed doubts over Pearson (see quotes I raised of mine last time).

I believe a combination of inexperience in key positions (Keane), the young age and relative inexperience at this level of others (Knockaert amongst others) failure to deal with the pressure, a huge player in my opinion missing in the shape of James and yes some poor decisions, or should I say slow decision making from Pearson contributed to that run.

The 40/1 is STILL available. Absolutely scandalous odds and fans should buy some broken heart insurance by lumping on. If we do go down, then you'll be sat on a few quid that'll make it bearable. I've had £25 already and i've won a free £50 bet on twitter and the whole loyt is going on it. I'll look to lay it off nearer the time if we're struggling and Pearson get's the boot but at that price it's got to be taken.

Swallow your pride and DO it.

Still not value for me, we have a manager who has never led us to outside the top six. I think we might struggle to achieve that for this season but no way in a million years are we going to finish below Yeovil, Burnley, Hudders, Blackpool etc

And I still kick myself for not backing us to go during the Holloway season. I wrote out a slip for £100 at 9/1 after the 3-0 loss at Sheff Utd and didnt bother.

Fair do's, it's easy to argue that we won't. It's just this unease I have with the club right now, the likely hangover from the play-offs and the fact i've bought a possible £3000 for only £25 outlay. I'll lay some off when we inevitably shorten.

Hahahahaa I too missed a trick that season, I got on but way too late. 5/1 was nothing compared to the odds in Jan and Feb where we were flattering to deceive.

Not going to knock you, 40/1 is a huge price. I'll be genuinely amazed though if we end up anywhere near the bottom three this season.

Lot's of angry young men displaying unwarranted aggression on here today it seems.

It's getting like Stalinist Russia if you don't agree with the masses.

Thanks to the non-paranoid / free thinking few who recognised I was asking a simple question on betting.

I don't see a lot of thread or responses from the "masses" betting on a manager's exit on here, unless you can point them out to me.

But well done with your usual "Help me, I'm being oppressed here!" spectacle. lol

That's all fine mate. My educating of Foxes Talk is going much better than I expected.

LOTS of realists on here now.

I wouldn't be surprised if they put a plaque up at the stadium in my honour. Maybe last home game of the season I'll be invited down from L1 onto the pitch.

Or perhaps a honorary doctorate from De Montfort University at the very least.

My motivational & educational work here is nearing completion.

Thanks again for all the PM's in support from my fellow Foxes.  :scarf:

I may well have a tenner on at 40s. If this season starts with the same lack of form that dogged the latter part of last season then we could be bang in trouble.

All it would take then is a duff appointment after Pearson goes and it could be the Holloway scenario all over again. More likely we'll be lower mid table with all the dross at the lower end of this division but still worth a punt I reckon.

Don't be so sure that all our youngsters are guaranteed not to regress.

It's an easy bet.

We've got more chance of going down than we have of going up IMHO.

Bookies have us 7/2 to go up and 40/1 to go down.

If you are right that's the biggest bookmaking error of all time.

Wolves were a similar price for promotion and relegation last season. The bookies don't always get it right.

Oh it happens, when teams go down two teirs on the bounce though it's usually as they have a lot of overpaid ex-prem players who dont care less.

I'd be very disappointed if we had that with James, Wood, De Laet, Drinks, Kasper, Knocky etc etc who all haven't played in the Prem and all have something to prove still.

It doesn't prevent some fear mongers from joining in with the doom choirboys. ;)

Bookies had us nailed on for promotion last season as well, and the season before that.

Not really, we were up there with the favourites.

We were actually 6/4 under Sven to go up and 12/5 last season, so still odds against to actually go up.

Right, I'm going to do the honourable thing and whack £100 on that bad boy. If we go down, I don't have to shit myself in horror lol
