Swiss_tony Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 Is this meant to be making any kind of point? Because it certainly doesn't look like it. More gibberish. we had a season of two halves. you made the valid point about relegation being over the whole season. i was just pointing out you can make the same point about promotion. it's no good people banging on about how good we were for the first half of the season, because over the whole thing we weren't good enough for promotion.
cambridgefox Posted 1 July 2013 Posted 1 July 2013 So people think we will finish below all bar two of these. Barnsley Bournemouth Burnley Charlton Doncaster Huddersfield Millwall Sheff Wed Yeovil And that's just the weaker of teams in my eyes. If you want to waste/ spend a fiver,my mrs is running the marathon next year and needs sponsoring for her charity!
AnotherShitSeason Posted 5 July 2013 Author Posted 5 July 2013 Right then, which visionaries have got onboard with the 40/1? Must be a good few more by now?? Looking better & better as the days go by right!? Just 1 week away from pre-season now. Squad weaker than last season. No new signings coming in. Untested youth due to be pushed through to the first team as a emergency measure. Nugent crocked. 90% of rival Championship sides doing the business & strengthening with some very astute signings. "Boots On Fire" & his worthless cronies here for the long haul & pocketing thousands each week from the bench...all whilst planning their latest sports car purchase & tweeting each other re their latest high end home cinema upgrades. Ps. Here's a tip, do it £10 a week for the next 5 weeks, spread the load. Mad £2K holiday to the Seychelles this time next year. Here to help.

No one cares, it's obvious you keep posting just to get attention for yourself. I pity you.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 6 July 2013 Author Posted 6 July 2013 No one cares, it's obvious you keep posting just to get attention for yourself. I pity you. God Bless You Sir. But, as you're new here, I'll cut you some slack. These are all genuine honest points that need to be raised. Only the few on here are brave enough to confront the truth. Plus I'm trying to earn you cvnts a few quid. Finnaldo, I like your panache. But I see you as the forum equivalent of Graham Cross. Obviously batting for both. potnoodle Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 Feeding the trolls. Roll on tomorrow and the start of pre-season and opening of the transfer window. yes roll on the transfer window...the tumbleweeds are blowing around the streets outside the KP...move on nothing to see hear
Lasty Posted 6 July 2013 Posted 6 July 2013 I don't think we should fall into the trap of thinking we're too good to go down. Everybody starts from zero in August and if we start the season the way we ended the last then it might not be quite as comfortable as some of us think. For the record though, I reckon we'll get lost in that sea of mediocrity that is mid table. Just don't knock a person for being a bit more downcast than others. Life is just perception, and everyone perceives things differently.
Chrysalis Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 when pearson almost took southampton down was he there the full season?
Guest MattP Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 when pearson almost took southampton down was he there the full season? No he came in around Feb and kept them up on the last day. He was then dismissed and Southampton were relegated the next season.
hackneyfox Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 Did he keep them up? I thought they continued to acrue points at the same rate they had prior to him joining them, they stayed up due to other teams getting worse.
Babylon Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 Did he keep them up? I thought they continued to acrue points at the same rate they had prior to him joining them, they stayed up due to other teams getting worse. I suppose the same way we only got in the play offs because every team below us was worse than us, rather than us being 6th best in the league.
Guest MattP Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 Did he keep them up? I thought they continued to acrue points at the same rate they had prior to him joining them, they stayed up due to other teams getting worse. Well he didn't take them down. That's football, Holloway's Palace team was worse than us points wise in the last six months of the season but Ian still took them up unfortunately.
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 why the fook not? cheeky fiver on odds at 400/1, what have you got to lose? Nige has shown he isnt above relegation fodder, note second half of last season. A fiver by the looks of it.

NO, NO YOU'RE WRONG Hackney Fox, he came in & turned things round with his constant displays of amazing man management & in-game tactical nous. The rest of the division were bamboozled, players & management alike dumfounded by his exceptional footballing intellect, creative power & untouchable tactical ability.
hackneyfox Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 I suppose the same way we only got in the play offs because every team below us was worse than us, rather than us being 6th best in the leagI asked You're doing that positive spin again. Did Southampton's form actually improve after he took over?
Guest MattP Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 You're doing that positive spin again. Did Southampton's form actually improve after he took over? Under him Played 13 Won 3 Drew 7 Lost 3 Other managers Played 33 Won 10 Drew 8 Lost 15 So he took 16 points from 13 games, (1.23 points per game) others 38 from 33 (1.15 points per game) . So a slight improvement under him in percentage terms. A continuation of the percentage of 33 from 38 would have left them on 52 points which would have ended with them level with us and being relegated on goal difference. Pearson's ratio (1.23pts) through the season would have seen them finish 15th. So I think it's fair to say he kept them up.
Babylon Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 You're doing that positive spin again. Did Southampton's form actually improve after he took over? And you are doing that negative spin again, his job was to keep them up. They stayed up, end of story. Lets put it this way, before he actually took charge they got 2 points from the previous 6 games losing four of them. After he took charge they didn't lose for 5 games, returning a total of 7 points for the first 6 games after he took over. Including a win against us that ultimately cost us a place in the league. In all the games he had in charge they only lost 3 out of 13 after losing 6 of the thirteen before he took over. He also won a game more in his 13 games compared to the previous 13 games. So it's not a shock that Southampton fans actually credit him with having an impact on them stating up.

Guest MattP Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 His job was to get us promoted last season, and he FAILED. His job is to manage the football club to the best of his abilities. The target was promotion.
l444ry Posted 9 July 2013 Posted 9 July 2013 What a pretty pass it's come to when the expectation levels of a great club like Leicester City FC drop so low that some people feel the need to defend Nigel Pearson's managerial record as a badge of honour.

Great Club? Our fans really are a bit above their station, we've never won a League or an FA Cup. How big do people think we are?
