AjcW Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Well, it's been on for two days already but England kick off this evening with Peter Taylor (yes him) making a return to the England set up and in his own words "aiming to put England back on the map after the U21 disappointment" There's the teams taking part in Turkey, so far there's been victories for France, Spain, Korea, Portugal and Turkey with Australia and Columbia sharing a draw. FIFA hold this tournament in High regard and it's always a good one to watch! TV: British Eurosport and Plenty of Wiziwig links as always. England Squad: Goalkeepers 1 Samuel JOHNSTONE 12 George LONG 13 Connor RIPLEY Defenders 3 Daniel POTTS 4 Jonathon FLANAGAN 5 Eric DIER 11 Adam REACH 14 John STONES 15 Jamaal LASCELLES 16 Thomas THORPE 20 Luke GARBUTT Midfielders 2 Gael BIGIRIMANA 6 Conor COADY 7 James WARD-PROWSE 8 Larnell COLE 18 John LUNDSTRAM 19 Alex PRITCHARD 21 Ross BARKLEY Forwards 9 Harry KANE 10 Christopher LONG 17 Luke WILLIAMS
ealingfox Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Good god I didn't know Taylor was their manager. God help those Young Lions. How on earth do we expect to make ANY progress in the modern game if useless twats like him are getting these jobs? ffs the guy was sacked from the bloody Bahrain job not too long ago.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Knowing Leicester, Harry Kane will be player of the tournament.
LCFC FOX Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Yes I've herd of Kane and a few others. But there is quite a few I couldn't tell you who they play for. I know Kane, Ward-Prowse, Flanagan, Barkley and is that Lascelles who plays for Forest? Apart from that it will be the first time watching these lads
Jimothy Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Didn't realise Gael Bigirimana English. Thought he was just another member of Newcastle's French legion.
Stadt Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Didn't realise Gael Bigirimana English. Thought he was just another member of Newcastle's French legion.I thought he was from Burundi for some reason.
EnderbyFox Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 I thought he was from Burundi for some reason. He was born in Burundi
EnderbyFox Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Being streamed for free on the Fifa website http://www.fifa.com/u20worldcup/video/live/information.html
Dan Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Good god I didn't know Taylor was their manager. God help those Young Lions. The FA don't care. It couldn't be more obvious to me.
purpleronnie Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 And we throw away a 2 nil lead in the last minute. Not a good day.
EnderbyFox Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Christ, the future of our national team is looking very bleak, lovely 2-2 draw with Iraq there. What can you expect with Peter Taylor in charge?
RowlattsFox Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Good, a good performance in this competition would probably mean Taylor getting under 21 job.
Guest shearfox Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Peter Taylor is in charge, did you really expect we would win
Happy Fox Posted 23 June 2013 Posted 23 June 2013 Utter f**king incompetence for the FA to appoint him as manager (I wouldn't even call him that!). But what do you expect really...
