The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 HUGE let off for Broad! I want some tickets. Where tge hell do I get em from?
leicsmac Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Well, I guess that equalises out the stumping from yesterday. Poor from Broad, should've walked. Dangerous school of thought really. You can't be recalled if the umpire makes a howler and you're given out (barring reviews obviously), so should you walk if the umpire makes a howler and you stay in?
purpleronnie Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Poor from Broad, should've walked. fook off...no way.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Can an umpire review a decision for his own satisfaction even if no teams appeal/have appeals left?

You can't be recalled if the umpire makes a howler and you're given out, so should you walk if the umpire makes a howler and you stay in? I know, but I've always played the way that if you know you've hit it, the catch was clean then you should at least offer to walk. I can see why he didn't though, and I'm amazed Dar missed it.
leicsmac Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Can an umpire review a decision for his own satisfaction even if no teams appeal/have appeals left? Not from those kinds of incidents, I don't think. Only run outs/stumpings, and to see if a catch has carried.
Father Ted Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 The runs are stacking up, very healthy partneship. And Broad No way should he have voluntarily walked.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Jesus Christ i have heard it all now Nasser Hussain "Broad not walking was very courageus" what a fooken clown Nasser is.
StanSP Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Saw The Duckworth Lewis Method mentioned. What a band. I recommend listening to: Jiggery Pokery (about that Shane Warne ball) Meeting Mr Miandad:
Guest shearfox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 What happened with Broad, just got in from work.. Why should he walk if it isn't given?
purpleronnie Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Glenn having a bit of a go at the english fans 'It's always late in the day when you hear the English crowd;. -saying they have been sedate.
Corky Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Jesus Christ i have heard it all now Nasser Hussain "Broad not walking was very courageus" what a fooken clown Nasser is. I think he meant audacity Glenn having a bit of a go at the english fans 'It's always late in the day when you hear the English crowd;. -saying they have been sedate. Unlike the Aussies, who turned up as empty seats in the last Ashes
purpleronnie Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Jesus Christ i have heard it all now Nasser Hussain "Broad not walking was very courageus" what a fooken clown Nasser is. I think he meant that he'll get a load of shit for doing it...which he will.
StanSP Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 What happened with Broad, just got in from work.. Why should he walk if it isn't given? Agar bowls. Broad got a CLEAR nick on it. Went through to slip (Clarke?) who caught it. Not given out. Australia no reviews left so can't appeal. Umpires commit another mare. Embarrassing.

Thanks, if it isn't seen then I don't see why it is up to Broad to walk, it is the Umpire's fault been rubbish by the sounds of things.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 Like Pietersens just said. A batsman within his right to wait for the umpires decision
Bobby Hundreds Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 The darling of Ashes cricket Agar knew his foot wasn't grounded or behind the line yesterday, I didn't see him walk. I could name very few players who would walk every time they knew they were out.
theessexfox Posted 12 July 2013 Posted 12 July 2013 I doubt Agar knew he was clearly out, that's a ridiculous statement. Broad needs an Oscar for that acting after he nicked it. Good from Bell.
