Matt Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Obviously i'd like the whitewash, but if Australia are to win one of the test's I kinda want them to win the next one (Because let's be honest we shouldn't lose this one, if we do well...) just so there is abit of excitement still there. Like I say hopefully we'll whitewash them, think I may be getting abit ahead of myself saying that though.
Finnegan Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Not that far ahead of yourself. England's batsmen have been largely poor but Australia's simply don't look at all capable of playing at the same level as your bowling attack.
purpleronnie Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Hope we throw the bat a bit more soon this is pretty dull.
StanSP Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Bumble seeing Michael Dawson (Spurs) without realising who he is and asking if he is in a boyband ::. Hope we throw the bat a bit more soon this is pretty dull. Bell's doing so.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 The Ashes is boring when we're trouncing them lot. At least get competitive ffs!
purpleronnie Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Love us to have a bowl at aussies for an hour tonight. wont happen of course.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Bumble seeing Michael Dawson (Spurs) without realising who he is and asking if he is in a boyband : :. Bell's doing so. He's turning it on a bit now isn't he. Let's declare and get the win asap (hopefully)
Guest shearfox Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 The Ashes is boring when we're trouncing them lot. At least get competitive ffs! The first test was exciting but yes this has been pretty straight forward... we could have a bowl at them now because they would never score the required runs. Maybe we are just allowing bell to score his century .

Maybe we are just allowing bell to score his century . Let Bell attempt another century, by that point we'll be near on/surpassed a lead of 500, Australia could never reach that target surely, as you say I doubt they'd reach the target currently.
Guest Bilo Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Aye, give Bell a chance to hit his century and declare if he falls short. There's no way they'll successfully chase a target of 500.

Guest Bilo Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 On the strength of this test, the 7/2 at Ladbrokes about an England whitewash look intriguing, potentially value to be had.
Matt Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 On the strength of this test, the 7/2 at Ladbrokes about an England whitewash look intriguing, potentially value to be had. I was thinking this. Still think 1 might be a draw/rained off or Australia will win 1 though. SkyBet were offering 8/1 on 5-0 at the start of the week.

SkyBet were offering 8/1 on 5-0 at the start of the week. Bloody hell, that looks enormous now! Australia have shown zero resistance in this test, it's been embarrassingly one sided. The weather looks as though it's going to hold out for the series as well, so we're looking at Australia showing a massive improvement from this test to avoid an utter hammering. I can personally see us winning at least 4 Tests, the Aussies look massively off the pace so far. Is that the current odds or before the Series started? Live odds, taken from Oddschecker.
Matt Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 What were they before, if you know? Best odds you could have got were 25/1 with Paddy Power on 23 Feb 2013. They obviously fluxuated but on the start of the series (10th July 2013) Ladbrokes were offering 20/1 but generally with other bookmakers it was around 10/1 - 12/1. http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/ashes/series-correct-score/bet-history/england-5:0/today
Tielemans63 Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 How could you get out to a bowl like that? Bell must be livid with himself there was another century for the taking there!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Good catch there by the Oz geezer. I was about to post before Bell hit that that we really were starting to take the piss!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Surely now is the time to declare? Waiting til Root reaches 150 apparently. He's 4 off
Guest Bilo Posted 20 July 2013 Posted 20 July 2013 Waiting til Root reaches 150 apparently. He's 4 off Fair enough. I can see us winning by 300 runs or more, possibly by tomorrow.
