Ashes 2013

Yeah, definitely. There's not many occasions you'd get to witness an Ashes victory at Lords in the flesh.

I'm in this situation too, but my train won't arrive into London until 10.

I could go, miss the first ball, miss the wicket, and see no cricket at all. lol

I don't think it's a problem we're going to have to worry about to be honest. This match will be over tonight.

Four overs left- You sure?

Don't forget we can claim the extra half hour to force the result. In reality there's about 11 overs left.

Finally England get the job done! Last wicket stand once again delaying the inevitable.

Nevertheless, hugely convincing win by 347 runs.

Disappointed for the lads who were due to go to Lord's tomorrow, but Australia have been embarrassingly dreadful in this Test.

I just don't see them winning a Test on this form, only a change in the weather can save them from a whitewash without massive improvements.

Does Snicko take a while to generate or something? If not why does the 3rd umpire not use it for reviews? It's a brilliant piece of technology which has often proved a decision correct/incorrect well after the decision had been made.

Yes, it takes a while to synchronise the sound with the image. Although they are currently working on a new snicko that is available within 5 seconds, which would be used as part of DRS.

This is part of the reason I don't want technology in football.

Agreed. The DRS has generally been good for the game, overturning errors and often proving the umpires right (the Umpire's Call facility is an excellent one, taking into account how tight some decisions can be) but it isn't faultless.

I fear for when the first error, or inconclusive call, is made with the technology in football. It won't be brushed under the carpet, that's for sure.

I don't see why an error from technology is worse than an error from the ref.

The technology is going to eradicate errors or confirm doubts (or is supposed to). When that goes wrong, what do we turn to?

The Aussies are having a rough time with the DRS but I coundn`t give a fook  :D

Anything that winds them up and makes them cry is ok by me.... Aussie tears taste like honey and I want to lick them from their dopey retarded looking eyes and fat sun burnt cheeks...
