Tielemans63 Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 We are very good. We have a side who can win in India, that's unheard of, we have won 4 consecitive Ashes tests, we won 3-1 in Austyralia and we would have won the series overall had we had one innings and Australia had two. We beat India 4-0 at home. Had we not had that awful shambles against South Africa where off the field problems dogged us we would be called great, as good as the Saffers are this Aussie team got a draw in South Africa and look what we are doing to them. Agree with all of this - we have a team as good as any in our history. Andy Flower has to take massive credit - he's been an unbelievable appointment. Straussy's captaincy laid some excellent foundations for success too.

Was watching some highlights earlier of the 2005 final Test, and the discussion was where we could go from there. The euphoria of that win will stay with you forever, but most importantly we've not over-celebrated since in the two series wins since (surely three in the next few weeks). When we hit rock-bottom in 1999 we changed the mentality of the England team. Since 2000, we've won away in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, Australia, South Africa, West Indies and New Zealand and beaten all sides at home barring South Africa. What a 13 years we've had.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 July 2013 Posted 25 July 2013 It's probably the 130 overs they have to bowl every innings. A combo of this and the fact our batters aren't giving our bowlers and extented break. Plus the bowlers that are breaking down are the younger ones who have been rushed in to Test Cricket earlier than they should be.
I am Rod Hull Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 Seen these? Proceeds go to Cricket United. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/CricketUnited/m.html
Finnegan Posted 26 July 2013 Posted 26 July 2013 lol Steven Finn by Ian Bell. Joe Root is quite good!
Super_horns Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Unusually for an England squad these days there are a few changes. Taylor in as cover for KP. Finn and Onions out with Monty P and Tremlett in.
theessexfox Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Should have thought that Monty is surplus to requirements given Root's performance with the ball.
Matt Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Just been watching Sky Sports News and 3 of the Aussie's were at a Brighton friendly last night, they interviewed Ryan Harris and he was saying he followed Man Utd but his dad is from Leicester so is also a Leicester fan.
Brainy Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Saw some of them pictures the other day in the paper, burst out laughing at Ian Bell/Finn I see the World Cup groups are exactly the same as the CT groups except with the added qualifiers
marko Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 Saw some of them pictures the other day in the paper, burst out laughing at Ian Bell/Finn I see the World Cup groups are exactly the same as the CT groups except with the added qualifiers That's because the groups are based on the ODI rankings. 1st goes into Group 1, 2nd into Group 2, 3rd into Group 1, etc, etc, etc.
Captain... Posted 31 July 2013 Posted 31 July 2013 Can't wait for tomorrow, no work, just me and an illegal stream of sky sports from 10 o'clock onwards, looking forward to smashing them again.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 That's because the groups are based on the ODI rankings. 1st goes into Group 1, 2nd into Group 2, 3rd into Group 1, etc, etc, etc. I'm just glad that the final will be played at the MCG
Swarles Barkley Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Aussies win toss and choose to bat? Agar, hughes and patto out. WARNER, lyon and starc in. Wanrer batting at 6 so going to have to wait for the abuse
Guest MattP Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Bogan Warner in at about 5 o clocl would be nice.
Captain... Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Bogan Warner in at about 5 o clocl would be nice. In about 1 o'clock would be nicer. If the Aussies can't post a decent score here then they never will, disappointed Tremlett was left out, I like Bresnan, but I just think they would have shat themselves to see Tremlett running in.
Captain... Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Watson has solved his LBW problem, but forgotten how to score, out again cheaply. Not sure what they put in Rogers' morning Milo, he's playing like it's a T20, still find him an odd choice, fair enough he is used to English conditions but who will open in Australia? Not exactly one for the future.
Guest MattP Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Rogers playing very well, he does have a fine county record at Old Trafford, helping him with the ball coming on more. Got tickets for day 4 and 5 now so not too fussed if the Aussies make 300 and make a game of it. Amazed Swann hasn't had a bowl yet.
Swarles Barkley Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Absolutely disgraceful decision. How could they give that out. No hotspot noise not conclusive, cant believe that is given out and im an england fan
Aus Fox Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Is that the worst decision ever in test cricket? And I'm an England fan! Pisses me off because we are the better team but a few dodgy decisions by umpires have given the Aussies at work excuses when I go in!!!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 I give up, that was fooken awful clear as day missed it by a mile
Captain... Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 Absolutely disgraceful decision. How could they give that out. No hotspot noise not conclusive, cant believe that is given out and im an england fan ...but there was a noise, I heard it every time, as it goes past the bat there was a faint noise, not as loud as when he hit the pad, but there was a noise, snicko didn't pick up that noise, but I can clearly hear a noise on the TV. Can nobody else hear that?
marko Posted 1 August 2013 Posted 1 August 2013 It's not the technology that's the problem, it's the clowns using it.
