Babylon Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 He was one of the favourites last year because he had the resources to take us up and expectation was high, so any early 'failures' and he may well have been out. Had our season been in reverse, ie 3 wins in the first 17 games I doubt he would have lasted past november, if that. But in general my point remains the same, with the squad and resources at his disposal, he really should have got us up. Resources? We spent what he made in transfer dealings pretty much. Cardiff, Hull, Forest all spent much more than we did. Watford loaned in half of Udinese, premier league teams came down with good squads like Bolton and Wolves (who also spent much more than us). We were one of many with resources!
marbelladave Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 You could say that about 5 or 6 clubs last year but unfortunately they only allow 3 to go up per season Resources? We spent what he made in transfer dealings pretty much. Cardiff, Hull, Forest all spent much more than we did. Watford loaned in half of Udinese, premier league teams came down with good squads like Bolton and Wolves (who also spent much more than us). We were one of many with resources! Not my view at all. We had a squad that was good enough for promotion, the first half of the season showed that. The collapse in the second half of the season was so endemic and complete that I simply can not see past the manager in terms of responsibility. We have analysed this to death in recent months so I an not going to do that again, the bottom line for me remains the same, we had a good squad that started well but when things started to falter NFP had no idea how to turn it around. In fact the more changes he made, the worse we played.
MC Prussian Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 3 out of 17, got it ? Wow, ONE bad patch as the main argument. You really are desperate. But hey, it just proves that the Pearson haters are clinging on to straws here, completely ignoring all the achievements under Pearson deliberately. Happy witch-hunting, BNET.
MC Prussian Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Why not use bookies odds ffs, they are experts, l can't believe some of the rubbish posted. Bookies and experts - they adjust their odds the way the wind blows from, as long as they're making a profit. If that's not rubbish, then what? You might as well visit a palm reader - probably about the same odds of nailing something spot on.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 I think the fact people have resorted to using bookies' odds to back up their argument speaks volumes to be honest. I agree with you, and I do not rate Pearson. To bring this argument into the equation is not relevant, and prefer to stick to the argument that I have always made. However, there are some people like, Mark W., who also refuses, to listen to any logical opposite views, are equally ridiculous.
cuddly ken Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 I think we should of got rid of NP after our play off defeat, the run of games prior to that was unacceptable. To be honest I feel sorry for NP now, what with the new DIrector of Football and having to deal with managing the team when a new manager has already been lined up and waiting to take over. Not the best situation for Leic at the start of the season.
Happy Fox Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 I think we should of got rid of NP after our play off defeat, the run of games prior to that was unacceptable. mrmagoomc4 Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 thing is knocky and marshall need to play in the centre not out wide anyone manager with any sense would spot that these two players make things happen
RowZ Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Yes I know what your going to say Oh no not another Pearson thread but as im quite new to this forum im quite intrigued into why some people dislike NP as our manager I cant see he has done much wrong, I know some people will say his quotes from last season got under their noses but the delusions of grandeur one he was right as we as fans were deluding ourselves in thinking the team was better than it was. I fully appreciate I might get loads of abuse here but like I say im just curious.Regardless of whether he's a decent bloke or not, he appears to be arrogant beyond belief, and it comes accross in his media comumunications. Arrogance is ok if you're at the top of your proffession but NP clearly isn't.
cuddly ken Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Bollocks. Yes I have a lovely pair, thanks for asking. Wanna bet against me on this? 100%
Happy Fox Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Yes I have a lovely pair, thanks for asking. Wanna bet against me on this? 100% I just cannot believe it but having said that nothing in football surprises me anymore. NP should of gone at the end of the season if the owners wanted to get rid, pure stupidity to let him run the show if a new manager was/is going to be in charge
whoareyaaa Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Resources? We spent what he made in transfer dealings pretty much. Cardiff, Hull, Forest all spent much more than we did. Watford loaned in half of Udinese, premier league teams came down with good squads like Bolton and Wolves (who also spent much more than us). We were one of many with resources! Don't forget that we also had the 3rd youngest squad in the whole Football League.
Master Fox Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Never heard a person use the word "remit" more than Nige. Who uses this word? It's weird.
johnny the fox Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Im counting down the days till the owners realize he is an imposter..
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Don't forget that we also had the 3rd youngest squad in the whole Football League. Correct, but that doesn't mean anything. After today's non performance we need to start praying, and so should Pearson.
Monsell1976 Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Wow, ONE bad patch as the main argument. You really are desperate. But hey, it just proves that the Pearson haters are clinging on to straws here, completely ignoring all the achievements under Pearson deliberately. Happy witch-hunting, BNET. I thought I was told the other day that calling people Pearson lovers was antagonising and puts people into pigeon holes, but is it ok to class anybody that doesn't rate Pearson as Pearson haters, alot or very little hate the bloke, just don't rate him.Back to the 3 out of 17 being a bad patch, seeing though we only play 44 games in the championship it's a bit more than a patch, more like a large part of the season, and if I remember right we started slow aswell, with speculation about his job after a poor run and the defeat to burton, so both sides have a point because he redeemed himself with the run, getting us top and second for a while, but then returned to the poor results 3 out of 17 at the most important time after where we were sitting in the table. And we could counter you point, what has he achieved, league 1 title granted, then what two playoff semis, and defeated in both, his only actual achievement in his whole managerial career is 1 league one title.
Babylon Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Not my view at all. It's not your view that other teams also had resources?
Babylon Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 I thought I was told the other day that calling people Pearson lovers was antagonising and puts people into pigeon holes, but is it ok to class anybody that doesn't rate Pearson as Pearson haters, alot or very little hate the bloke, just don't rate him. He's not pigeon holing everyone, he was pigeon holing one person, who has made no secret of his hatred for the manager.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 I don't understand, I think tactically he is a bit meh so I could see the criticize there. I think the arrogant way he comes across with the media is one of the things that annoys a lot, for me it makes me love him more . I'm a Pearson fan, I admit he is sometime, if not often tactically inept and I would assume this is the main gripe.
Leicester_Numan Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Yes I have a lovely pair, thanks for asking. Wanna bet against me on this? 100% what a stupid bet, it's going to be true eventually isn't it?
coolhandfox Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 People are hard on NP, with a little bit of luck at penalties, he would have got us to two PO finals. Yes he is stubborn, a little boring tactical, we could get rid but who would we have instead!
Monsell1976 Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 He's not pigeon holing everyone, he was pigeon holing one person, who has made no secret of his hatred for the manager.I don't want to go round the silliness again babs, it doesn't read that way, if he had said Pearson hater yes, but haters, as more than one.But hey ho lets keep the debate constructive ðŸ˜
MC Prussian Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Regardless of whether he's a decent bloke or not, he appears to be arrogant beyond belief, and it comes accross in his media comumunications. Arrogance is ok if you're at the top of your proffession but NP clearly isn't. So it's an issue that he "appears" to be arrogant, not that he is or isn't. See, you can be a really nice chap on the outside, but that doesn't mean you're that kind or competent a person.
MC Prussian Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 I don't want to go round the silliness again babs, it doesn't read that way, if he had said Pearson hater yes, but haters, as more than one. But hey ho lets keep the debate constructive I used the plural form because there clearly is more than one Pearson hater and all they do is use the same repetitious and worn-out argument when they're trying to make a point. Namely, that one bad patch, one bad series of results is allegedly proof enough that Pearson's not up to it.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 27 July 2013 Posted 27 July 2013 Has he proved to be worth a million pounds a year since returning. Only a complete idiot would say yes.
