Jakemoore Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Forest are trying to do what we did! I reckon it'll bloody work for them though -_- I'm convinced they'll be up there come may
Tielemans63 Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 I've not heard anything about it but it wouldn't surprise me and could be the first sign of possibly losing our better players because we can't offload the deadwood. I wouldn't consider it till January though This was my first thought - if we sell Nuge that would be the biggest sign yet that we're not just cutting back but that we are actually f@£&ed financially.
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 He certainly isn't injured is he? If he goes where will the goals come from? We can't afford to lose Nugent. Simple. NP said he was rested yday cos of a 'tight calf' and they wanted to be 100% sure he'd be fit for boro
dog_4 Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Hopefully true! Overated player. Free up some funds to get a couple of loans.
Guest ttfn Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 I was on the Wirral a few weeks ago and got a taxi driven by a guy who claimed to be a mate of Nugent's dad. He said Nugent had a great deal of respect for Billy Davies and wanted to work for him again.
FrankieADZ Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Vardy Danns So i think we should see if they want them two then
Guest Col city fan Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 I doubt we'll sell Nuge. If we do, it's clear we have become a selling club again. I hope the rumour is false.
teblin Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 I like nugent but I don't buy the "where will the goals come from" line. He'a has not really been prolific for us.
Callabinho Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Hopefully true! Overated player. Free up some funds to get a couple of loans. Don't be silly, is players out not in. If he leaves we're screwed....simple as that
LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 His Gf just said nope to someone who asked on twitter
ian the fox Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Nugents goals return after xmas was nothing short of pathetic tbf Harrison Panayiotou can have his shirt
GingerrrFox Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Personally I'd sell Nugent if the price was £1 million or over. Don't get me wrong he's a good player but we could do with shoring up other areas of the squad and I think we could honestly do without him especially if we can get some of the Development squad experience, he went something like 16 games without a goal last season. Wood/Waghorn/Vardy/Hopper/Blyth.

Wood/Waghorn/Vardy/Hopper/Blyth. I can't believe anyone would consider selling Nugent. And the list you provided... We ain't going up with them as first choice strikers. Fook sake... Nugent had a bad run last season yes. So did they all. In a squad mainly devoid of real quality, selling Nugent would reduce it even further.
cjslcfc Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 This will never materialise, Forest trying to sound anyone and everyone, remind you of anyone? I hope they suffer the same fate
LCFC FOX Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 The difference is none of there signings are on massive wages though unlike ours I would imagine
cc_star Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Nugent is our best forward with 2 x 16 goals since Dickov's 18 when we were back in the Championship & retained the team of Premiership players. Problem is, if we can't get rid of Danns, Gallagher & maybe Konchesky & SSL then it's the higher quality players who will have to go to get us under FFP ceiling. Nugent has to stay, quality. For me, we have quite a lot of money tied up in a goalie who's probably going to run his contract down and leave for nothing. Unpopular opinion maybe but I'd consider cashing in & getting in a new cheaper keeper & use the freed up funds to get a CB & a CM maybe on season long loans from one of the big 4. We'll be facing sanctions if some don't leave & if it can't be Danns & Co then it might be someone we want
Samilktray Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 You'd have to worry about next season if we lost him.

The facts speak for themselves as I'm sure he was our top scorer last season and has scored the most goals out of all of our strikers. Anyway, all that over-rated s**t is absolute rubbish. The guy is quality at championship level and he has proven that wherever he has gone.
GingerrrFox Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Fact is we need money to strengthen the squad. We already have a striker who scored 20 goals last season in Wood who I think still has lots of improvement in him and we have Waghorn/Vardy/Hopper/Blyth/Harry P who can all support him. We need to strengthen our defence and our midfield big time and if someone is prepared to give us £1 million+ for Nugent and clear his wages off our budget (which are some of the biggest left in the squad) I would do it. 2 or 3 players to improve the squad or Nugent easy choice for me. PLUS his contract expires at the end of the season.
Johnny Cash Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 Exactly. Our best striker, bar none So good he didnt score for almost half a season..
Happy Fox Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 We may have to make certain sacrifices selling the likes of Nugent, Kasper etc will give us more funds to bring in players of decent quality, because truth be told our A mission of getting rid of the deadwood isn't working.

We'll be facing sanctions if some don't leave & if it can't be Danns & Co then it might be someone we want Nugent and Kasper both are on large contracts, both of which expire at the end of this season. Both are highly likely to not stay if we fail to go up this season. Kasper for me is more crucial to help us gain promotion to the Premiership than Nugent. He was by a large consensus the best keeper in the Championship last season and made the team of season, just watching him save some good efforts from Falcao yesterday shows he is of much more importance to us than a striker who didn't score for something like 16 games last season.
Kitchandro Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 If we were to lose Nugent I'd be relieved if we finished 13th. I was as critical as anyone of him in the latter 3rd of last season but anyone who thinks we should be selling him is an absolute moron. He's by far the best striker at the club, he's had a goal tally as good as any striker in this league for us in quite a few years. He's pivotal to our chances. Take him out and our striker force is utter, utter gash. I'd be shocked if we let him go.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 28 July 2013 Posted 28 July 2013 It would be foolish to let him go. And to the people saying Wood scored over 20, he didn't show that form for us (apart from his first 2 games)/
