The Text "Ellis" Campaign

This really needs more publicity doesn't anyone agree?

Do our players chip in? I know Sir Nige has.

They could raise all the money needed at the drop of the hat.

The blokes just cycled the 100 miles to Elland Rd in just one day. That's staggering in my book. Just goes to show the great lengths a parent will go to help their kids.

It's actually pretty upsetting!

I wasn't going to go forest away but if there are going to be a large number of fans cycling with him that day I think Ill have to join them.

I know the owners are giving 23k to them, which is a really good gesture. I think the players might have, but if I was one of them I wouldn't be bragging about it, i'd just do it anonymously

players should show more appreciation too the fans, a donation too a hard working cause to support the lad and leicester city. sad if they didnt

He's set himself an big challenge and that was a fantastic ride today to get to Leeds in one go. Richard seems like a top bloke and hope people consider donating if they haven't already...

Just donated now.

Was pretty surprised and disappointed to see that the total so far is £31,958.98 with just £69 from text donations and online donations of £77. Basically meaning that were it not for people at the club the guy would be on a very measely figure.

I've seen countless people get sponsored to the tune of £200 for a half marathon/sky dive/Race For Life etc. which requires 1/100th of the effort this guy is putting in.

The post above yours makes sense though.

It'd be fantastic if there were loads up for doing this for forest. You could even make it a foxestalk social thing too.

It'd just be good if the fans could all unite for one day for Ellis' sake.

Pretty sure there's been topics about this but they seem to have got buried. You're right, it should get more recognition and I know for a fact some of the players have donated. Massive gesture from the owners to donate £1k for every away ground = £23k towards the £100k target. Massive respect from me for that.

I've donated and will probably donate further along the line in the hope Richard and the whole Text Ellis campaign reach £100k. I hope it gets national recognition, too, when that happens. Really like it when other clubs get on board and help publicise it in their stadiums pre-match or during half-time. Kudos to them for that.

Those only seem to cover 16/17th January, does;t show my donation for example - sure they've had more than that...

I would like to think if the players did donate, they would keep it quiet anyway. Hate famous people using charity to better their own image. Just got to trust the players have made a contribution.

I know for a fact that isn't true, Ipswich fans donated nearly 1k which was all text or web

I think there should be a match day at the club where all the money for that particularly fixture should go to charity. Like Villa do for acorns day, for example say our home match against Blackpool could be text ellis day, all the ticket and programmes sales on that day will go to text ellis. what do people think?

I've put some money in just last week. With sky, top and Vichai, NP and all of the players (include those from others clubs - I believe he said on Radio Leicester Yeovil were generous) along with his amazing achievement of cycling to every away game it seems incomprehensible he will not reach his goal. I should imagine they'll wait till it looks like he won't make 100K (if that happens and hopefully it does not) then they'll lump the rest of the cash and more together. He deserves nothing less. A great gesture from a great father for a great cause. I hope it helps his lad as well.

Will he overtake Bernie walking it?

Sorry I am in the dark as to what this is - anyone got a link?

I think the guy on the radio said the other day that they had raised more than half, and were ahead of schedule. Good luck to him for the rest of the season.

The guy was on the the phone in on Monday, he said the figure was more than what's been quoted here..

Was having a look at a Leeds forum earlier, and the thread he made on there quoted 'over £50,000, including pledges'.
