Bob Weasel Fox Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 I have to say I was in the escourt yesterday and we were treated like animals by the police(some of who were Leicestershire Constab) there was maybe one or two decent ones who had a laugh. After the game we were walking back to the station.. Two lads(Derby fans) started to walk alongside our escourt they didn't say anything or make any gestures towards the escourt however two coppers peeled off and started to walk towards them the lads jogged about 10 yards in front which made the coppers run after them. They went for one of the lads who dodged one of the coppers attempts to grab him, coppers went again to grab the same lad dodged the second time, third time three coppers jumped on him had his hands around his back then wrestled him to the floor. Like I said previously these lads didn't do anything wrong Derby or not the Coppers were bang out of order. To the lads who were singing you burn our own kids in the eascourt only about 4 or 5 have a serious word with yourselves. To the lad who was ripping that copper about Uniform dating LOL Always the coppers fault never the thug hey?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Well, you know, people of low status will be people of low status. I went to Derby once, as a child. I returned as the proud owner of an X-wing Fighter with battle damage. So it's not all bad
Ashley Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Always the coppers fault never the thug hey? Did you read what I put? The Derby lads did nothing wrong what so ever!
El C.Effsi Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 . I'll reply whenever I want as far as you're concerned. Do I think a little bit if fighting is acceptable? I don't really care as long as innocent bystanders aren't being harmed. The underclass can scrap it out amongst themselves all day if that's what they want to do with their lives. If they get some oddball enjoyment out of it then good for them. Not my scene but who am i to tell others what they can and can't enjoy? Fights happen all the time anyway. Even if I found it totally unacceptable they're still going to happen. As for geezers needing excitement, has it come to this? Dry your eyes mate, and let's push things forward. Ok..ok,a fair enough reply,(apart from the drying my eyes part)..but i will explain my point.I'd read through this thread and to be honest, wasn't surprised to see some of the replies..then i got to the replies about so called human beings chanting about the Philpott incident. Further on i get to the post by MPH and a similar thing happened to my Brother, who when i was younger used to take me to matches..until one day as we were innocently walking home after a match,he was attacked by 3 "billy big bollocks",who then ran away when some LCFC fans came over to us as they saw what happened. My Brother was in hospital for 2 weeks and he stopped going to games. As i was 8 at the time it obviously affected me..but to this day,i cannot understand why people want to attack people because they support a different team. I'm well aware that most clubs have "firms" who arrange meets..that,i almost understand,if people want to fight each other, then that seems to be the safest option concerning innocent people. Banter should be harmless..it's when green street wannabes start chanting about the deaths of innocent kids which is bound to cause a reaction, which is where innocent people will get hurt..physically or mentally.I wonder how these people would feel/react if this had happened in Leicester? As for what goes on in towns at the weekend isn't quite the same and innocent people get attacked for whatever reason..again usually outnumbering the victim(s)..i've seen it happen many times. I don't know, maybe i don't have the neanderthal gene..and by your reply i'd say you don't either..and i will apologize for being harsh towards your original post and i shouldn't have aimed my contempt at you. It's posts like MattP's that i have contempt for.

To the lads who were singing you burn our own kids in the eascourt only about 4 or 5 have a serious word with yourselves. To the lad who was ripping that copper about Uniform dating LOL We talk about thugs at football matches, and walking away from aggression but the police or should I say certain police are as much of thugs and try and antagonise fans as much as some fans.Like the lad arrested near us in the ground yesterday, it appeared he did nothing wrong but the police singled him out, no problem there, but the youngman offered no resistance but was restrained all the way down the stairs, no attempt to use cuffs to control , I work within the criminal justice system and know about the rules on use of force, and it was excessive with the person being compliant. Then after the game a ' police officer', saw my friend and his young child walking in the crowd and had a little room to move but flatly refused to move the one step to the side, just a bit of common courtesy, but no showed the higest level of arrogants, and attitude, and when I comment to my friend, his colleague spoke to me in an aggressive manner, hence I put him in his place. So from my experience of the day I saw no trouble at all, and the only aggressive behaviour was from the Derbyshire constabulary, if I dealt with the public in the manner they did I wouldn't have a job, but they hide behind their powers.

GingerrrFox Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Police are wankers at football. Always have been and always will be. They get just as much of a buzz out of confrontation as the lads involved do, only difference is 1 group are allowed to have metal sticks.

I have a really good mate who is trained to do football policing and he is a sound lad who wouldn't arrest anyone without very good reason. Your lumping all in to one category is as blind as being a racist imo

They treat everyone as hooligans and clearly buzz off potential flash points.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 I'm going to say this now fully aware of the potential judgement made against my mate but hear me out. If anyone saw the blonde haired lad being arrested not long aftr we scored and was frogmarched behind the goal and out the ground that was my mate. I wasn't sat with him at the time but he's told me what happened regarding that chant. We thought he'd been chucked out for setting off a smoke grenade but it wasnt. There was a brief chant going, 'mick philpott is a derby fan' and so on. Nothing else. My mates no idiot and wasn't drunk so i know for a fact that it wouldn't have been the other chant. Anyway its in the hands of the fsf now.

He works for Derbyshire funnily enough and used to work for Leicestershire but I know he wasn't on the football for this game aa it happens. What he has told me in the past is you can't take any shite doing that job which I understand but I guess like owt else in life if you have a good attitude with them they will have a good attitude with you generally

Whilst you do get some police who seem to enjoy antagonising the situation there are some decent coppers. Birmingham away past season they gave us an escort from two pubs we were in. The police were sound as and we enjoyed a good laugh with them. How it should be.

I think he's the one I'm on about, did he have a light blue and white stripped t- shirt on, think its him that didn't resist and used far to much force to arrest him, if it was and as he was compliant he should have been left to walk with the police, and not restrained.
El C.Effsi Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Your right there is no excuse for it,what I'm getting at is no matter how much people call them names and condem them, it will happen no matter what, always will. It's not just a football thing, it's a culture thing, it depends on where you are from, and where you are brought up, and your age group, but this sort of behaviour will always be around. It is not unique to Leicester or derby but society as a whole. My other point is the level of violence at football matches nowadays is very minor compared to years ago, and again reflects the culture in some of the younger element in society, the asbo generation in society that cause criminal damage and make a nuisance of themselves, causing people to feel intimidated, without actual using violence towards a person. Good post.
El C.Effsi Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Fight, fight, fight... Oh no wait a minute.. +1'd this as it made me spit my drink back into my cup Disclaimer: for those of you who don't get it I was being ironic (fighting is really bad kids, as is playing with matches and watching internet porn on your dad's computer)

Thats him. All he was told verbally that people around derby are still sensitive to what happened- fair enough. No mention by the police about the other chant until he read the paperwork and that's when they accused him of singing the other chant. They wanted to take him to derby police station then decided not to, so they decided to take him to the train station til he told them he was driving. so they gave him a thing where he had to get out of derby within 20 mins. They allowed him to wait in the navigation til the other lad had come out at FT. He'd parked his car at the pub. But Yeh he was compliant cos they asked him to follow them whuch he did til he was then manhandled. The funny thing was the coppers surname was Pott
Voll Blau Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Here is the thing as much as football has changed the more things stay the same. Things like this still happen look at Leeds in the away end last week its the mob mentality. Obviously I am not saying it's the same thing but you get the idea. The small minority that see the way it was back in the 80's think it is acceptable now. Some will grow out of it some won't. Problem is some people will look at films like football factory, like green street and miss the message (granted in football factory there is no message) and see the violence and think that it is a cool thing to go out and do. Now don't get me wrong not all people who see them films will do that (I for one enjoy the films but in no way do I want to go out and smash someone's face in.) But a small minority will. Which will unfortunately lead to people who want to find trouble usually finding it regardless of who is there when they attack. Well that's my opinion anyway The only message in Green Street was make sure you spend you two quid on a better DVD next time.

The funny thing was the coppers surname was Pott Was tempted to make a complaint to Derbyshire police about that incident in case he made a complaint against them, and for the aggression shown by their police to law abiding supporters. The reason they probably let your mate go with no charge would be they had no evidence, no charge, and as they man handled him when he was compliant and made out they did him a favour, no complaint about his treatment from him, as they must de-escalate any use of force at the earliest opportunity, and as your mate was compliant from the start, they broke their own rules by escalating the use of force without course or reason, basically abused their powers.

foxsake Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Yeah! Who are you? That fvcking fictional writer JR Hartley from an advert in the 1980s? I don't get it. If, however, you are actually Mr Hartley can I please have a copy of your book about fly fishing as I have been looking for a copy for nearly 30 years....

Disgusting really by the police and that's why a lot of people feel they treat footballs fans like hooligans.
Dan Posted 18 August 2013 Posted 18 August 2013 Think it's six of one although plenty of completely innocent people often get undeservedly caught up in it.
