Beliall Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 I dont give a crap about stats. its about the games and playstion has the better studios and exclusives. ill miss forza and halo, but I can live with that to get killzone, and whatever new franchise naughty dog is cooking up.
Dan Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Does amaze me how competitive people get over this. I have a laugh as an Xbox'er saying it's better but I'm really not that bothered, amazes me people take it seriously.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 14 November 2013 Posted 14 November 2013 Can we not bring this ridiculous fanboy stuff here please I wasn't trying to start anything, and I'm very pro PS4 - it looks a much better console than the Xbox One. Was justing pointing out that there have been reports of hardware failures on the launch consoles, people can make of that what they will. Wouldn't put me off buying one, as the RROD reports didn't deter me from the 360, just keep the receipt

Just seen this so blown out of proportion today all over the internet. The fanatics have jumped on it like rabid animals.

That is such a wild assumption. How the heck do you know? MS have invested over a billion dollars in securing exclusives, not that it should matter. You do realise kz:sf is reviewing poorly right? Killzone has always been a shoddy series and Sony should stop funding Guerrilla's beautiful but shallow nonsense tbh. Anyway, out of the pre-launch shipped PS4's, Sony have reported a .4% failure rate. That is totally acceptable, the internet just magnifies everything 100%. We'll see bricked X1's too and of course the nerds of the internet will blow that out of proportion too.

Beliall Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 two words. naughty dog. my favourite studio by far. killzone has always been a cracking clan game too. nothing against xbox. each to their own. I have a 360 and at some point will probably get an xbone. just prefer playstation so thats what I ordered.

I just really hate Killzone, always have. I'm not arguing with you, I think console wars are for children and 30 year old virgins, I love playstation. I jut feel bad for the Xbox division, they've developed a pretty awesome product and all they've received is ridiculous levels of mob-mentality hate from people who have no idea what they're talking about.

z-layrex Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 Tbh they made a rod for their own back from the startHow so? People are just sheep and want to be on the Xbox hate wagon just like their mates. We are heading to an all digital future, it's not an issue with pc gaming is it. No one buys their PC games in disc form anymore, everyone uses Steam etc and DRM is just the norm.It turns out console gamers weren't ready, so they listened and changed everything because they had to. I for one would have loved all digital (and consequently DRM on retail purchases) but there you go. The next playstation, or even this one potentially, will have DRM (if we even still have games consoles in 10 years). So the other thing that's pissing everyone off is the mandatory kinect slapping £100 on the price tag. That annoys me too, but without making it a universal feature it becomes just a near pointless accessory like the playstation camera. If they ever release a kinect-less bundle I can see that spelling big trouble for the division. The next thing is the specs. People are judging it based purely on paper rather than the balance and performance of the system as a whole. The ps4 has the edge, you cannot deny that no matter how you spin it, but do people really believe the MS engineers don't know how to build a format that will give us beautiful, stable games? The 360 was a fantastic development platform and the X1 continues with a similar design. This article is great and the engineers at MS had a chance to get their point across: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-vs-the-xbox-one-architects Of course it's cool to hate Xbox atm and nothing anyone can say changes that, but I believe it's totally undeserved. The PS4 is undoubtedly an amazing achievement for Sony after the PS3 which nearly ruined the brand, but this hivemind hate wagon is just so so old. The Xbox One is just not allowed nice things it seems. People used to love video games. What worries me is the financial state of both companies' gaming divisions. Sony are bleeding money and the only thing keeping them afloat is their finance division. As for Xbox, Msft share holders want to shut the entire division down to concentrate on their big money makers like pushing office software onto android etc. Rumour is they lost 2 billion dollars on the Xbox brand last fiscal year which they covered up with android patents. Can't be good news anyway...
MrSpaM Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 Uncharted 4 coming to PS4 next year has been confirmed!!!!

Most people who post in gaming related forums are poisonous shits that will moan about anything so once something starts it's going to carry on, they were both silly ideas made it far too easy for Sony to make them look stupid. People may use Steam but they have the option not to if they don't want to and always online is a terrible idea that has hampered any game that is has been implemented in, badly, as you say the consoles just aren't ready.
Legend_in_blue Posted 15 November 2013 Posted 15 November 2013 It not about console gamers not being ready, it's the Open Reach people who are taking years to sort out the broadband issue in the South Leicestershire area. It's shocking. At 1mb/s I don't want to even think about downloading 6gb of content. Forget it.

Well I was more talking about the software issues plaugeing Sim City and Diablo but judging by the reaction to always on online I would heavily disagree with you on that one the internet was awash with dismay at the news.
Amin Posted 17 November 2013 Posted 17 November 2013 Sony sold 1 million PS4's in the first 24 hours on Friday, which is 5 times the amount the PS3 sold in it's first month.
whoareyaaa Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 With the One coming out Friday do people think you will be able to buy them straight off the shelf have all pre-orders been finalized? Still want the PS4 on launch though but may grab an Xbox as well.
WillieJTejeda Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 personally i prefer the ps4. the xbox takes a little while to get used to.

LCFC FOX Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Only one way to settle this, Nelson Mandela Park. 7pm. Thursday night. Be there and we will scrap this one out.

While both are displayed at 1080p, the Xbox One version upscales the game from 720p resolution. In contrast, the PS4 version runs natively at 1080p, which makes character models, weapons, and environments look noticeably sharper and more detailed. The difference is especially apparent on larger-sized TVs, where pixel density weighs more heavily in picture quality.
LestaFox92 Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Really suprised Killer instinct got a 8.4 by IGN i mean i know it's about the gameplay and what not but a roster of 6 playable characters is a joke as far as i'm concerned and the fact it costs 20$ for them.
Legend_in_blue Posted 18 November 2013 Posted 18 November 2013 Don't buy either console before Christmas. You're a fruit cake if you do imo. Americans are already cursing their $400 paperweights. Videos a plenty on YouTube. Neither console is ready, wait until the initial dispatches are out, then get one on another batch. This is akin to buying a flat screen tv. Certain batches are always better than others. This is no different but it's a lottery as to whether you end up with one working, or working without mishaps for the next five years, if you buy a launch console. 0.4%? . Not a chance. There's people saying they've waited two and a half hours for sony to get through to them, only to be told there's nothing they can do. Wait. All good things come to those who wait.

I only get 21 days holiday a year, and about half of that is compulsory to be taken over Christmas. That's why I'm getting a PS4 this year, so I can have 2 weeks of gaming bliss when I get it
