Videos a plenty on YouTube. Neither console is ready, wait until the initial dispatches are out, then get one on another batch. This is akin to buying a flat screen tv. Certain batches are always better than others. This is no different but it's a lottery as to whether you end up with one working, or working without mishaps for the next five years, if you buy a launch console. 0.4%? . Not a chance. There's people saying they've waited two and a half hours for sony to get through to them, only to be told there's nothing they can do. Wait. All good things come to those who wait. They've sold a million consoles apprently the number is close to 4000 even 50'000 would only be 5% and thats an average for new electronics also what you've got to remember is people who are enjoying the console wont be coming online making videos and bad reviews.

I completely agree, but these are the negatives I considered when deciding whether to get one of them at launch. Its where my heart is ,but something in my head is saying xbox one this time around for reasons I cannot begin to explain! Its almost like cheating on the mrs territory haha

If I remember correctly it took about 18 months to 2 years for the Yellow Light of Death to surface with launch PS3s. I don't think the Red Ring happened on 360s that soon after launch either. I'll risk it, thanks.

There is nothing to bash sony about tho as i've previously stated the numbers are expected on the other hand unless you install that day one patch your machine wont run sh!t thats the main reason why MS have been "treated" badly at the end of the day MS made there own bed now they gotta deal with it just like the sony with the PS3.

I think Christmas is too early. I ended up going through 5 xbox replacements.

No console replacements here, although my ps3 bluray drive on my day one original failed last month. 360 elite still going strong though. Still can't understand the mad rush for the PS4 this time round though considering the launch lineup. On PS3 I had Motorstorm and Resistance which were both decent. This time round you get Knack and Shadow Fall, hardly an inspiring choice. Pretty much bombed on Metacritic as well. Maybe it's all too unoriginal, seen it all before, just prettier. The lineup Q1/2 next year is a different matter though - Watchdogs, Infamous, Order 1886, Metal Gear, Thief, Diablo III, Destiny... I can't find many others worth mentioning. Even some of these might get pushed back. Dark Souls 2 is out in March on current gen anyway. Should take up the rest of 2014 trying to get past boss number 1...

And considering how obsessed one of my mates is with playing FIFA, I'm amazed his hasn't just died of wear and tear, but no, they've all worked perfectly for years.

Manwell Pablo Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 I've bought four Xbox 360's and had about 3 repair jobs done, two of them are still going in some capacity as my brother has one, when my current xbox packs up I'm not replacing it but given it had a brand new laser when I bought it about three months ago and I intend to buy a PS3 just to complete the 15-16 games on it I actually want to play I can see it lasting well up to when I decide what new console to get. As others have said, you'd have to be a nutter to get one on release, not just because of potential problems but because there isn't a single game that justifies the price tag of either yet, I'd imagine Forza 5 will probably walk away with the best review of any launch title but it will certainly not be worth buying a £450 console. Really suprised Killer instinct got a 8.4 by IGN i mean i know it's about the gameplay and what not but a roster of 6 playable characters is a joke as far as i'm concerned and the fact it costs 20$ for them. I rarely pay attention to IGN normally over score average games, and killer Instinct does looks bang average

This absolutely love the KZ multiplayer still think KZ2 was the best console FPS last gen well that or halo 3 both were unique and felt right on a console. Edit: and on the whole console dying subject i've been quite lucky tbh even my original 360 survived this gen the one with the memory card and the original fat PS3 are the original PS3's still going for alot on ebay?

Not sure wether your going to have to pay for them all over again or not yet though
