Manwell Pablo Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 True, although the reviews seem a bit disappointing considering it's a Forza game. They seem better on average than 4's which hovered around 8, looks around 8.4 atm. Problem with it is, how many different way can you change Forza, not many. That'll be why it's not hitting any higher. Although it's got 9/10 from Gamespot who have been notoriously difficult to please recently, they only gave GTAV 9/10.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Problem with it is, how many different way can you change Forza, not many. Just heap on more detail! I still remember playing Gran Turismo (the original on PS1) and thinking it was unbelievably realistic, course it looks like a joke now

I still remember playing Gran Turismo (the original on PS1) and thinking it was unbelievably realistic, course it looks like a joke now It's already pretty detailed though you can only do so much especially when you are releasing a game every year as they have done for the second year running.

Apparently they've taken a few classic tracks out (e.g. Nurburgring and Suzuka) and there's a general lack of content. Drivatar has also had a mixed response. Still sounds good though and it is, aside from Killzone, the only next-gen console exclusive that i'm interested in.
potter3 Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Much prefer the Gran Turismo style career to Forza's, getting a new car every time you level up just makes it feel kind of easy, and yes I've got the AI set to hard etc. The actual gameplay of Forza is a lot better however.
Legend_in_blue Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Interesting read on the reasons for the stuttering in Ghosts on PS4... In simple terms: The PS4 has outgrown Infinity Ward's ugly old Quake III mod, and that's why the Xbox 360, PS3 and Xbox One don't have any problems running it. Old engine for old hardware. The PS4 is trying to put out more frames than what the engine can actually handle. The revelation of this test is, to me, eye-opening. What this means is that Sony's machine is exceptionally well optimized, where it's capable of running games better than what the games can actually handle. PC gamers have run into a similar problem where poorly optimized ports can't run on dual Titans running in SLI, like Call of Duty: Ghosts and Need for Speed: Rivals. In fact, the PS4's "frame stutter" is nearly equivalent to the PC's "frame stutter" where it had little to do with the hardware and everything to do with the poor optimization and inefficient engine code. Anyway, if you're thinking that the PS4 is on par to the Glorious PC Master Race, think again. Digital Foundry makes it known that the muddied textures, resolution and shadow effects still shine through for the PS4, revealing that the system is still several grades behind its PC counterpart. Still, this is just more evidenced piled on top of additional evidence indicating that there really is a massive power gap between the Xbox One and PS4, and a system dropping frames because the engine can't keep up, is definitely good news for gamers awaiting real games from real developers who know how to utilize the hardware. In simple terms: the PS4 still has untapped power. More Xbone ownage right there...
Guest shearfox Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Getting it delivered tomorrow, got half day at work
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Some head guy from Xbox UK was on sky news last night being asked a load of questions etc. He'd make a great politician. Conveniently dodged all the questions relating to the inferior capabilities of the hardware. Netflix, Skype, Twitter, TV... The future is Xbone...
sk3since03 Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 The xbox 360 keeps my 5 year old happy so it must do something right! But then again isnt that what age group the xbox 360 Appeals to? Could be wrong 😎 The xbox one does look pretty cool though (tongue in cheek kinda cool) ha.. But will be getting a ps4 keeping the playstation tradition alive 😊
indierich06 Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Anyone got their Xbone yet? I don't really want one, but I feel like I'm missing out. The magpie in me sees the shiny thing and gets jealous when I can't have it!

The magpie in me sees the shiny thing and gets jealous when I can't have it! I feel the same but I think I will just hold out 7 days for the better console PS4, then I can run around Leicester like a proper nerd looking for a day one addition. John Lewis and Argos have some Ones in stock.

John Lewis and Argos have some Ones in stock. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a PS3, but I'll probably wait until the new year now. Back in the day I would've been bang up for getting it on day one, but now I'm a bit older and wiser, I can see that it's betetr to wait a few months. I'll be able to pick it up in spring/summer when there are a few better titles out, and I should be able to pick up the launch titles a bit cheaper. Bit annoyed that Dead Rising 3 has gone back to Xbox exclusively, those games were always amazing fun to play.

It's just the state of gaming in general these days, when it gets to the stage where Rockstar can't even be arsed to finish a game before releasing it and having to update it on numerous occasions post release we know we've got issues. Whenever you part with your cash these days whether it be hardware or software you seem to be buying unfinished goods.

Yeah, they're both going to have problems at the start, PS4 had lots of dead consoles and Xbox sounds like its struggling with software. Mine's working fine though The GTA thing is a strange one though. The sheer scope and density of that game meant there were going to be problems though plus they'd never done an MMO so they underestimated the amount of servers needed which was poor. Credit where its due though; they were very good at communicating and gave a nice sweetner to the people who played it. Problem is that so many games are pushed out early because of the pressure from the publishers these days. Its why indie games are becoming increasingly popular because they're allowed to foster innovation and creativity.

Legend_in_blue Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 22 Nov 2013 3:32 PM Is anyone one having this issue? My xbox one won't even attempt to ingest the disc. I've seen videos of the "common" issue where it sucks it in, then whirs a bit, then doesn't work, but mine won't take the disc in at all. That piece of functionality that sucks the disc in is just not working. I tried to push it all they way in manually and ended up having to get a needle noise pliers to get the game out. Level: 1 22 Nov 2013 3:58 PM Did you try pressing the eject button. Some people reported that their consoles arrived with a test disc already inside. If that is not the case probably have a broken disc drive. Call MS support and get a new one. This is comic genius. You couldn't make this stuff up...!

LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 22 November 2013 Posted 22 November 2013 Reckon the PS4 beats it gaming wise just, but Xbox has better entertainment features, which I like. In saying that..just setting up my xbox one
