The Year Of The Fox Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Great result however I felt we got away with it at the end. Don't think either were penalties the ref just wanted to even it up. Bit frustrated that we didn't score more, particularly in that we seemed blase at 2-0. We just seemed to sit back too much for my liking. Vardy MOTM Edit I'm not knocking us, I just would like us to be a bit more clinical and kill games off.
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Biggest gap between FT and post match thread ever?
Happy Fox Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 A win is a win at the end of the day, it did seem however that we should of scored more goals but 3 invaluable points means 16 points from 7 games is automatic promotion form! Lets keep it up City
Guest ttfn Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 I don't know what was a worse decision: the penalty we didn't get or the one we did.
Bert Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Dominated. Deserved nothing other than the win! Played some lovely stuff, defended from the front as a team and controlled the game from the midfield. Great for the teams confidence and sends us into Saturday with a bit more confidence.

ADK Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Will be interesting how we handle Blackpool away.
DennisNedry Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Should have been 4 or 5 up by the time they scored. I didn't think ours was a penalty, I thought theirs definitely was. Blackpool got smashed by Millwall tonight so we can definitely have them.

nlukka Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Delighted with 6 points from last two games. Today was nervier than it needed to be towards the end given the chances we had to make it 3-0. However, never felt that they looked like scoring, which is credit to the team. Still not getting carried away, but the signs are definitely promising!
Tom17LCFC Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Yeah I've got a feeling we'll beat Blackpool on saturday. Buzzing with the result tonight, should have been more comfortable than it was but I'll take the 3 points!
iamafox Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Another good win tonight, albeit a tougher win in the end.
sylofox Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 personally it don't matter how we win as long as we win. Come that whistle that says we have done it no one will care if we limped home in every game. We can only beat whats in front of us an be it 1-0 2-1 or 6-0 it don't matter. As a fan for many years we never do easy. Even the div 1 season we had a wobble towards the end and looked like limping over the line at one point.

Finnegan Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Can't be arsed starting a rating thread or waiting for one but thought Vardy was absolutely sensational today, ten out of ten for effort and application. Real shame he didn't take his one on one because he deserved it so much. Was very pleased with Knockaert, thought King did brilliantly for the first goal, Drinkwater was tidy and kept things ticking over and until the penalty they never looked like scoring. Bit scary at the death but otherwise a solid performance. We utterly battered them, it should have been four or five. I think if Vardy had scored (or we'd have grabbed a goal elsewhere) in the first ten minutes of the half it would have been a rout. They were absolutely terrible. Worst side I've seen here in a while. Wigan looked lazy and disinterested but at least competent, they didn't deserve their consolation goal today. 2 - 1 hugely flatters Blackburn. Absolute horse shit of a team. If their gaffer claims they deserved a point or if any of their fans think I'm being unduly harsh then they should feel embarrassed for themselves. If City were that woeful I'd want blood.

Monsell1976 Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Great result, saw some of the good football we know we can play. I did get concerned as we were cruising at 2-0 and then the ref gave the penalty that never was,but credit to the lads they step it up a gear and saw the game out. Didn't rate vardy last season but he is growing on me everytime I see him play. The ref was very poor for both sides and cannot believe the amount of blatant fouls he missed/ ignored. I want to get excited about this season, and all the signs are very positive but I/ we need to keep our feet on the ground, it's still very early, but I am defiantly enjoying being top of the league.
Walshy5 Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 We've got to be more clinical! Dominating most of the game and finding ourselves clinging on like that near the end is not good enough and we wont get away with that all season. We definitely need another striker. Vardys all round play is great but hes shocking at one on ones. Nugent cant hit a barn door atm and wood plays like hes got lead in his boots!

Finnegan Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 I didn't think Blackburn were THAT bad! If we were that shit I desperately hope Nigel would come out and go "fair play, Ian, that was ****ing awful. Where did I put my sword?" I sit down the kop end and the first half was literally a pantomime. Then first ten minutes of the second half they were all over the shop, I've no idea what they were doing, it was like watching a Sunday U-9s. They sured up a bit after that, fair enough but to be fair, mate, they were pretty much "that bad."

I agree. After Middlesborough at home last year I thought we were going up, and then we royally f*****d it up! Think the test for us this year will navigating a busy fixture list with a small-ish squad.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 I would echo what most have said, 2-1 flatters Blackburns performance. Take a bow Jamie Vardy again, so deserved a goal! Drinky was sublime at times tonight and Knocky showed some of his Gallic flair We're top o the league
Matt Posted 17 September 2013 Posted 17 September 2013 Played really well up until the last 20 mins or so then I thought we were hanging on abit. Start of the 2nd half we were outstanding. Vardy good again, probably my motm, although still hitting shots straight at the keeper, should have buried that 1 on 1. I don't really see what Wood offers atm, he really doesn't look up for it or like he wants it at all. Played great now it's onto Blackpool.
