Ric Flair Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 There's no way Sturridge will be available for both of these games, he'll worm his way out of playing somehow, even if he's not injured.
Lamby Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Does anyone know of 2 spare £35 tickets for tomorrow? Don't really wanna pay out £45 for a ticket tbh.
Super_horns Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Just hope we go out from the off looking for an early goal to ease the pressure.. Probably want a draw between Ukraine and Poland as well?
Ashley Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Purchased two tickets earlier for this, Level 5(top tier though)!
Idioteque Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 I think it'll be 1-1 against Montenegro, they are a fast improving nation when it comes to football, the likes of Vucinic and Jovetic and so on, As for Poland, I wouldn't be surprised if they got something, attacking wise they're great, defensively questionable, but they have Boruc in goal which should help things, but thats probably me and my slight dislike for the national team set up right now.
ScouseFox Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Wasn't everyone going on about how good Montenegro were before the away game? They were comfortably worse than San Marino for at least half that game and if Hodgson hadn't been a complete disabled we'd have won 2 or 3-0 without even trying. At home with a bit more firepower (assuming Sturridge starts) we'll win comfortably. 3-1.
Guest MattP Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 I agree we should be more aggressive but to say they were worse than San Marino for any period of time is daft.
Ashley Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Look out for my flag on TV. I think where I'm sitting is in line almost with where the pundits sit so you may see it in the background
ScouseFox Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 I agree we should be more aggressive but to say they were worse than San Marino for any period of time is daft. The first half at their place was one of the most comfortable halves of football I've ever seen England play, including San Marino, Andorra, Macedonia etc. But we didn't win because we didn't punish them when they were shite and we let them back into it and eventually decided to defend 1-0 which obviously didn't work. Unless we make the same mistakes again or they've improved dramatically I can't work out why anyone's concerned that we won't win with relative ease.
Bert Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Let's hope Baines can step up and show us that he's ready to fill Cole's boots. I like Alberts team but swap Wilshere for Welbeck.
SeCrEt FoX Posted 10 October 2013 Posted 10 October 2013 Purchased two tickets earlier for this, Level 5(top tier though)!Im somewhere at the front (not rubbing it in) sat there before vs Croatia . Amazing view, amazing game.
Uncle Albert Posted 10 October 2013 Author Posted 10 October 2013 I can see Hodgson not starting Sturridge tomorrow, and going for the more negative/defensive set up and settling for a 1-0 win. Maybe go 4-3-3/4-5-1 with Milner on the right and Welbeck on the left, then play Rooney through the middle and Wilshire, Gerrard and Lampard as the three. Hodgson knows he then has an in form Daniel Sturridge to bring on in the second half, even though that will more than likely backfire, Sturridge unless he is fired up is usually a pretty ineffective substitute as he's usually peeved he hasn't started.

San Marino don't be ridiculous. They're the worst side I've ever seen and by a distance too.
Uncle Albert Posted 10 October 2013 Author Posted 10 October 2013 Honestly think teams like San Marino, Faroe Islands, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Azerbaijan, Malta and Cyprus should have their own pre-qualifying tournament for qualification groups.

Bit harsh on a couple there, Azer have only conceded 10 in 8 games, Malta. Lich and Cyprus have won a match. San Marino however simply shouldn't be allowed to play in any International competition. 8 games, 8 lost, scored 0 conceded nearly 50, in a group as shit as ours as well. It's humiliating and wouldn't happen in any other sport if a team or individual was that far below the rest of the field.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 Got offered a freebie for this but turned it down. Can't stand Wembley internationals. Youd hope for a good atmosphere but I'm not expecting much. Tuesdays game may be a cracker though in terms of atmosphere. The poles know how to get one going and many will probably be coming from round the UK.

It's this type of thought process that'll cost them, Sturridge only has 1 goal for England and that came against San Marino, and if you think Montenegro are worse than San Marino then thats a daft comment to say the least, since Montenegro became independent in 2006 we've never beaten them on the times we have met. Hodgson indicated he's ruling out the attack gung ho approach in the presser, so don't expect that.

Manwell Pablo Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 San Marino scored in the last round of fixtures, didn't they? They did, think it was an equalizing goal as well to be fair to them, still got hammered like.
Guest MattP Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 San Marino scored in the last round of fixtures, didn't they? They did First competitive goal for 5 years! Cleverley injured. Bonus!
Finnegan Posted 11 October 2013 Posted 11 October 2013 Why don't San Marino have a better team? Surely any Italian that can't quite get in their side is eligible to play for San Marino through accent?
